Responsibilities

  • Drive strong execution of the strategic plan across the leadership team, fostering cross-team collaboration.

  • Implement business strategies, plans, and processes aligned with DBS and departmental strategy. Analyze data, create KPIs, and report on operational performance.

  • Develop, execute, and ensure regional alignment of the department's strategic plan and activities. Oversee the development and implementation of control towers and dashboards to track progress towards strategic goals.

  • Coordinate and ensure strong execution across the leadership team in accordance with the strategic plan and drive strong cross-team collaboration.

  • Provide operational leadership by implementing business strategies, plans, and procedures that align with DBS’ and the department’s strategy.

  • Evaluate operational performance by analysing data and creating KPI metrics and reporting.

  • Develop and execute the department’s strategic plan and activities and ensure alignment across the region.

  • Lead the development and implementation of control towers and dashboards to guide the fulfilment of the department’s strategic goals.

  • Prepare and ensure quality and timely submission of presentation materials, report and plans.

  • Oversee the planning, development, tracking, management, and forecasting of the department's annual budget and expenses, including Strategic Cost Management (SCM) opportunities.

  • Lead contract governance efforts across the department, including risk assessments, contract management, and fee optimization, ensuring compliance with group policies.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive and effective business continuity plan, including regular testing exercises (unit tabletop exercises, full simulations, staff recall, etc).

  • Manage employee experience initiatives for the unit to cultivate a positive team culture.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the department, relating to financials, workspace, management support etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience in Banking/ Financial Services industry

  • Sound understanding of related areas of responsibilities, particularly advanced business planning and budget and expense management

  • Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity

  • Proven experience in managing multiple stakeholders and teams

  • A solid grasp of accounting principles, data analysis and performance metrics

  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues

  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and possesses strong business acumen

  • Organised and structured team leader with strong follow-up skills; responsive and proactive

  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written

  • Possess excellent Microsoft office skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel. Hyperion knowledge is a plus.
