Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain data management standards and frameworks that enable data usage while mitigating risks across the end-to-end data lifecycle.
  • Create playbooks and learning materials, establish tooling to enable units to implement data management standards and practices at scale, in areas such as data ownership, data quality, metadata and lineage.
  • Partner with units and locations to operationalise the enterprise data governance operating model, incorporating implementation learnings, stakeholder feedback and evolving regulatory expectations.
  • Track data governance outcomes in key areas of focus and initiative implementation progress, risks, and dependencies.
  • Act as Data Champion for data owned by T&D department, operationalising and applying data governance practices across T&D data domains.
  • Support the bank’s participation in regulatory and industry initiatives relating to data and AI governance, coordinating subject-matter inputs, preparing discussion materials, and tracking agreed commitments and follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate responses to data governance reviews and audits, including stakeholder inputs, supporting evidence, issue tracking and timely remediation of findings or control gaps.

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, mathematics, or data science.
  • Strong experience in defining and operationalising enterprise data management frameworks and associated controls, covering areas such as data quality, data issue management, metadata and data lineage. 
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data risk management practices and data governance regulations.
  • Experience with enterprise data governance tooling and AI capabilities to scale data governance practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively to drive data governance outcomes.
  • Excellent ability to develop and deliver engaging presentations, proficiency in articulating complex topics for understanding by a broad audience of stakeholders.
  • Ability to foster a data accountability mindset and develop data literacy.
