Company Description

At Delivery Hero, we believe in delivering more than just food—we deliver experiences. Operating in over 70+ countries worldwide, and headquartered in Berlin, we are one of the world’s leading local delivery platforms, listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 2017.

Job Description

We are hiring a VP, Quick Commerce to lead the vertical’s performance, strategy, and infrastructure across three of our brands (foodora, foodpanda and Yemeksepeti). Reporting directly to the brands’ CEO, you are responsible for the dual mandate of Market Management and Functional Excellence. You will drive the P&L across our primary geographic clusters - EU, Turkey, and APAC - while simultaneously owning the operational blueprints for our Dark Stores and Marketplace (1P and 3P models). This role requires an architect-leader capable of balancing hyper-local operational nuances with the centralized scaling of our core functional units.

Responsibilities:

Market Management (EU, Turkey, APAC)

  • P&L Oversight: Accountability for the consolidated Quick Commerce P&L, making high-stakes decisions on capital allocation between mature markets (EU), high-growth landscapes (Turkey), and scale-intensive regions (APAC).

  • Strategic Alignment: Act as the primary interface between regional and country leadership and the brands’ CEO, translating regional dynamics into actionable entity-level strategy.

  • Performance Benchmarking: Drive the adoption of operational "gold standards" across borders, ensuring that efficiency gains in one region are systematically scaled to the others.

Functional Leadership (Dark Store & Marketplace)

  • Ecosystem Synergy: Drive the strategic integration between owned inventory (Dark Stores) and partner networks (Marketplace) to ensure a seamless customer experience and maximum asset utilization.

  • Dark Store Operations (D-Marts): End-to-end ownership of the captive retail strategy. This includes the global real estate footprint, warehouse automation, supply chain optimization, and inventory management to maximize freshness while minimizing waste.

  • Marketplace Strategy: Lead the evolution of the third-party partner ecosystem. Focus on diversifying the merchant mix (Pharmacy, Retail, Electronics) and optimizing the commercial Take Rate through value-added services and retail media integration.

  • Operational Product Stakeholder: Serve as the lead partner for Tech and Product teams to ensure the platform’s features—from picker apps to customer UI—align with the operational realities of the Dark Store and Marketplace models.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Group GMV & Net Revenue: Delivery of top-line growth targets across all assigned regions.

  • Entity EBITDA: Achievement of profitability milestones and contribution margin targets.

  • Market Share: Percentage growth in key competitive urban markets.

  • Vertical Integration Synergy: Optimization of the hybrid model to increase order density and reduce delivery cost per order.

  • Take Rate Optimization: Realization of targeted commission and advertisement revenue growth.

  • Capex Efficiency: Management of investment spend against projected ROI for new store openings and tech deployments.

Qualifications

  • Leadership Experience: 15+ years of professional experience, including significant time in executive roles within e-commerce, q-commerce, on-demand delivery, or complex retail/logistics environments.

  • Geographic Fluency: Proven success managing large-scale P&Ls across diverse regulatory and consumer landscapes, specifically within the EU, Turkey, and/or APAC.

  • Strategic Breadth: Demonstrated ability to manage high-velocity retail operations and platform-based marketplace models simultaneously, identifying commercial levers to drive mutual growth.

  • Executive Impact: High-level stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at the Board level and drive alignment across a decentralized organizational structure.

  • Strategic Partnership Management: Proven track record of orchestrating complex FMCG/CPG supplier ecosystems, leveraging high-stakes negotiation to optimize margins and secure long-term commercial value.
