Business Function
GFM Operations - GFM Ops operates as a Regional Processing Centre (Hub & Spoke) supporting GFM businesses in the region. The hub and spoke model allow GFM business to scale up while remaining agile in product and service offerings in the fast, evolving market environment. As GFM business expands product offerings in the region coupled with the dynamic regulatory environment, GFM Ops leverages on this unique advantage to continue to standardize processes to manage processing risk and to facilitate automation as well as governance of service level and quality.
 

About the Role
As a Product Owner cum Business Lead, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions within GFM Ops (SG and regional), specifically supporting projects related to treasury products. You will be responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering product features that align with strategic business objectives, ensuring a seamless and efficient user experience. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and other relevant parties throughout the product lifecycle.
 

Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision:

  • Lead and support Product Owners/Business Project Managers in the execution of product roadmaps and workstreams, ensuring alignment with overall product vision and strategic goals.
  • Actively partner with stakeholders and technology teams in the solutioning process to ensure business solutions are strategically aligned, promote process standardization, enable intelligent operations, and leverage a data-driven operating model with comprehensive dashboards.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of product scope and associated changes, supporting the Project Manager in impact assessment and communicating these to stakeholders.
  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to all relevant stakeholders.

Requirements Elicitation & Analysis:

  • Organize and facilitate requirements gathering workshops to elicit and analyse user requirements from various teams.
  • Document end-to-end business process flows, identifying gaps and addressing potential risks.
  • Review, validate, and prioritize user requirements/user stories based on business value, strategic alignment, and product roadmap.
  • Collate and manage all relevant details regarding applications for the assigned business vertical, including interfacing systems, data content, and data held within applications.
  • Consolidate and rationalize all stakeholder requirements and walk through these requirements with Tech BAs and Developers/QA for effort estimation and test coordination.
  • Lead the breakdown of features into user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring it aligns with the overall product strategy and business objectives.

Solution Design & Delivery:

  • Translate user requirements and analysis into structured requirements, process maps, and comprehensive solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Assess and propose appropriate testing approaches and sign-off criteria to stakeholders, securing concurrence.
  • Manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including timeline management, overseeing tester's test cases, and reviewing testing results. May also participate in testing activities.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation on data flow, design, business solutioning, and testing approach in accordance with predefined templates.
  • Support UAT, implementation, and provide post-implementation support.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams throughout the agile development lifecycle to ensure successful product delivery.

Post-Implementation & Support:

  • Provide post-implementation support to the user community, addressing business queries and offering guidance on optimal system usage for daily BAU activities.
  • Gather and analyse feedback post-launch to inform future product iterations.
  • Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • 10 years of proven experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst, with a strong emphasis on product ownership responsibilities, particularly with processing in treasury products (both vanilla and structured derivatives).

Technical Skills & Acumen:

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in process/system architecture/data structure design.
  • Ability to translate complex user requirements and analysis into clear, actionable technical requirements and process maps.
  • Experience/Technical skills relating to Data Analysis and/or emerging/new technologies will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) for product backlog management and sprint planning.

Education / Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant Treasury & Markets product or technical certificates, such as Certified Business Analyst or Agile Product Owner/Scrum Master, are preferred.
