About the Department
The Finance and Corporate Services function manages the financial and administrative needs of the Group to help achieve its business goals.
Financial Strategy
The Financial Strategy team within Group Finance and Corporate Services plays a pivotal role in supporting UOB’s strategic financial objectives. The team partners closely with business units and senior management to ensure the efficient deployment of capital and balance sheet resources, provide forward‑looking financial insights, and drive data‑driven decision‑making across the Group. Responsibilities span capital optimization, financial modeling and strategic advisory.
Job Responsibilities
The candidate will join the Balance Sheet & NIM Team and play a key role in leading and executing balance sheet management initiatives across the Group. Key responsibilities include:
- Leverage sophisticated financial modelling techniques to assess macroeconomic developments, quantify risks, and evaluate opportunities across markets. Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses, benchmark the Group against industry peers, and generate insights that inform capital allocation, funding decisions, and balance sheet optimization initiatives.
- Perform forward‑looking forecasting and budgeting analyses in collaboration with business and finance teams. Validate key assumptions, assess the reasonableness of projections, and ensure alignment with strategic financial objectives and underlying business performance trends. Provide analytical discipline and clarity to support planning cycles and long‑term financial targets.
- Work closely with Treasury, Finance, Risk, and Business Units to shape a cohesive, enterprise‑wide planning and forecasting process. Maintain dynamic engagement with internal stakeholders to anticipate developments, bridge balance sheet gaps, and integrate business growth strategies with prudent financial management. Support timely decision‑making through high‑quality insights and an integrated strategic view.
- Collaborate with IT and data teams to build more powerful analytical frameworks for Balance Sheet, NIM, NII, and profitability modelling across geographies and business segments. Develop tools for historical trend analysis, forecasting, visualization, and strategic scenario planning. Drive innovation through adoption of AI and machine‑learning techniques, enabling scalable scenario/sensitivity analysis and paving the way for next‑generation balance sheet optimization.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business or equivalent professional certification
- At least 8 years of experience in the banking and finance sector
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Proactive, meticulous and able to work independently as well as in a team
- Able to organize and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced and deadline–oriented environment
- Independent, resourceful and good communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with business and finance stakeholders
- Enjoy the challenge of combining data modeling and analytics into insights to drive quality decision making
- Familiarity with programming, data query, data management tools
- Understanding of financial processes and experience with Net Interest Income (NII) and Net Interest Margin (NIM). Experience in funds transfer-pricing (FTP), balance sheet management and liquidity rules (e.g. LCR/NSFR) will be an advantage.
