Job Description

Role Summary
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented professional to join the Tax team as an Assistant Vice President (AVP). The role will primarily support corporate income tax, withholding tax, and tax risk management matters, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and adherence to the Bank’s internal policies and governance standards. The role also offers opportunities for exposure to other tax areas, including GST, transfer pricing, and Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR).

Key Responsibilities

  • Corporate Income Tax
    • Support the preparation and review of corporate income tax filings and tax provisions.
    • Assist in managing tax reporting requirements and ensuring timely compliance with regulatory obligations.
    • Assist in responding to tax authority queries, audits, and reviews.
  • Withholding Tax (WHT)
    • Provide guidance and operational support on withholding tax matters.
    • Review transactions to assess WHT implications and ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
    • Assist in responding to tax authority queries, audits, and reviews.
  • Tax Risk Management & Governance
    • Support the implementation and maintenance of tax risk management frameworks.
    • Ensure adherence to internal framework, policies, controls, and governance standards.
  • Advisory & Stakeholder Support
    • Collaborate with business and finance teams to provide tax input on transactions and initiatives.
    • Support process improvements and automation initiatives within the tax function.
  • Broader Tax Exposure
    • Exposure to other areas of tax, projects and initiatives involving GST, transfer pricing, and CbCR.
    • Support cross-border stakeholders engagement
    • Support documentation, compliance, and reporting requirements in these areas as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification (e.g. CA, CPA, ACCA) preferred.
  • Relevant experience in tax, preferably within financial services or a Big 4 environment.
  • Good understanding of corporate income tax and withholding tax principles.
  • Exposure to other areas of tax such as GST, transfer pricing, or CbCR is advantageous.
