As the Regional Architect and Team Lead – Wintel Platform, you will be responsible for the design, delivery, and governance of the Windows infrastructure services supporting critical banking applications across the region. This includes leading a high-performing regional Wintel team, aligning infrastructure with enterprise security and compliance standards, and ensuring operational excellence in a highly regulated financial environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Platform Architecture & Governance

  • Define and evolve the regional Wintel platform strategy in alignment with global enterprise architecture and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Design secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure for banking workloads including trading, payment, and compliance platforms.
  • Ensure architectural consistency, documentation, and alignment with global IT standards, security baselines (e.g., CIS), and internal audit controls.

Regional Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor the regional Wintel engineering team to ensure performance, knowledge retention, and technical depth.
  • Develop and enforce operational KPIs and SLAs, ensuring alignment with business-critical system availability and response times.
  • Serve as the regional escalation point for major incidents and drive root cause analysis and permanent remediation.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee Windows Server lifecycle management, patching, configuration hardening, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies.
  • Implement automation for repetitive operational tasks using PowerShell or enterprise tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual error.
  • Coordinate change management processes in accordance with ITIL practices and banking audit standards.

Regulatory & Risk Compliance

  • Ensure all infrastructure components comply with regional banking regulations (e.g., MAS, HKMA, etc) and internal audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to remediate vulnerabilities and enforce platform security policies.
  • Lead periodic risk assessments, disaster recovery tests, and infrastructure reviews with internal and external audit bodies.

Project Delivery

  • Lead regional implementation of regional Wintel programs such as hardware refresh, OS upgrades, data center migrations, and new service rollouts.
  • Work closely with application, database, and network teams to ensure integrated and optimized infrastructure delivery.
  • Provide cost analysis, budgeting input, and vendor engagement for Wintel infrastructure procurement and services.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in Wintel infrastructure management, with minimum 5 years in a leadership/architect role.
  • Microsoft Certified in Windows Server/Infrastructure (MCSE, Azure Architect).
  • Experience supporting Tier 0/Tier 1 banking systems in a high-availability and low-latency environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • ITIL v4 certification or strong operational process management background.
  • Project Management (e.g., PMP or Prince2) certification is a plus.
  • Strong expertise in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), SCCM/SCOM, and virtualization platforms (VMware).
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure security, privileged access management, and compliance reporting.
  • Proven experience leading regional projects in an enterprise environment.
