Position Overview

This role sits within BlackRock’s ETF Servicing team, which is responsible for supporting and managing our global ETF franchise on ESP (ETF Solutions Platform), our in-house platform built on Aladdin. The successful candidate will be a part of a team that owns core operational workflows across the ETF lifecycle, ensuring timely and accurate execution within a robust control framework. The role will also partner closely with internal teams on new product launches, platform enhancements, and strategic change initiatives, with a focus on operational excellence, scalability, risk reduction, and support for BlackRock’s commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Support core ETF Servicing activities across the ETF lifecycle, partnering closely with colleagues in Portfolio Management, Capital Markets, Technology, Product Development and Operations, while helping to deliver a high-quality experience for Authorized Participants and the broader ETF ecosystem.

Apply a strong risk management mindset to day-to-day activities, helping to identify, escalate and manage operational risk across the operating model.

Contribute to the continued development of ETF Servicing capabilities in the region, supporting product and stakeholder needs through clear processes, strong execution and effective cross-functional collaboration.

Support the enhancement of governance processes and performance metrics to help evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the ETF Servicing function, and identify opportunities to streamline, scale and improve.

 

Skills and experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in the ETF industry

  • Relevant experience across ETF operations, client service, fund accounting, custody or banking

  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with global, regional and local stakeholders

  • Ability to build strong working relationships, navigate a complex organisation and influence outcomes through partnership and credibility

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to summarise and synthesise complex topics clearly for senior stakeholders

  • Execution-focused, with sound commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to cross-functional initiatives and deliver practical results

  • Strong problem-solving ability, with critical thinking, quantitative and analytical skills, and a proactive approach to learning

  • Experience supporting business process improvement, operating model change, or technology-related initiatives as a subject matter expert or key contributor

  • Track record of contributing to project delivery in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment

  • Languages, Japanese and English required

Our hybrid work model
