JOB BRIEF:

EOS IT Solutions are seeking a skilled Trade Compliance Lead to oversee and manage company import and export activity, ensuring adherence to all applicable trade regulations and laws. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing compliance policies, managing customs documentation, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to minimize risks and enhance the efficiency of our trade operations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Ensure Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant international, government, and local trade laws and regulations, including export controls and import requirements.
  • Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain trade compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines that align with company objectives and legal requirements.
  • Customs Management: Oversee the preparation and submission of customs documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to trade compliance, providing guidance on potential impacts and solutions.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to internal teams on trade compliance matters, ensuring they understand and adhere to policies and regulations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (e.g., logistics, procurement, legal) and external partners (e.g., customs brokers, government agencies) to facilitate smooth and compliant import/export activities.
  • Audit and Reporting: Conduct regular audits of trade compliance activities, prepare reports on compliance status, and address any identified issues promptly.
  • Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with changes in trade laws and regulations, and ensure that the company’s trade activities remain compliant.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or relevant qualification) in International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in trade compliance, with a focus on import/export activities.
  • Strong understanding of international trade laws, export controls, and customs regulations.
  • Ability to assess and mitigate risks, analyse complex regulations, and develop actionable solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and guide internal teams.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Export Specialist, Certified Customs Specialist) are a plus.
  • High level of accuracy in managing documentation and ensuring compliance with regulations
