Purpose

The Senior Compensation Consultant, APAC provides compensation consultancy and advice to the General Insurance and Life businesses across countries in APAC. The role is responsbile for  planning, developing and implementing new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures to align with the Total Rewards principles, company's goals and competitive practices. This position is also responsible for ensuring that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and market government regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee job evaluation requests submitted by HR Business Partners (HRBPs), ensuring consistency and alignment with established frameworks.

  • Ensure compensation and benefits decisions are made in accordance with approved policies and governance frameworks, securing the necessary approvals for any deviations.Provide training and ongoing guidance to HRBPs on Chubb’s career architecture, job structures, and evaluation standards.

  • Coordinate the annual market survey process, including data submission, analysis of results, and recommendation of appropriate actions.

  • Manage all existing compensation programs and lead the development, implementation, and administration of updated or new compensation initiatives as required.

  • Coordinate annual compensation cycles, including bonus programs, bonus and equity pool reviews, as well as stakeholder and employee communications.

  • Partner with the HR data and reporting team to review off-cycle salary adjustments and promotion cases.

  • Advise and support HRBPs in reviewing and proposing compensation packages for new hires and exceptional cases, as needed.

  • Support country HR teams in the preparation, review, and maintenance of remuneration policies in line with local regulatory requirements, ensuring ongoing compliance.

  • Stay current on compensation and benefits market trends and developments across APAC markets.

  • Provide compensation input and analysis for special projects, including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and other business-driven initiatives.

  • Lead or contribute to ad hoc compensation-related projects and tasks as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field with a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible in employee compensation 
  • Experience working in a global matrixed organization
  • Strong capability to manage, analyze, and interpret high-volume data to support informed decision-making
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations
  • Ability to work collaboratively,  build effective work relationships at all levels of the organization, influence behavior, and manage change
  • High degree of integrity and honesty; ability to exercise confidentiality and neutrality in complex and sensitive situations
  • Communicates well both verbally and in writing with team members of all levels across the organization; maintains a level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information; freely shares ideas with others; actively listens to ensure clear understanding and translates direction into action;
  • Maintains a keen eye for detail; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Challenges ideas and processes in a constructive manner
  • Identifies and elevates issues and puts forward solutions in a timely manner
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure without compromising quality or service – successful experience managing demanding deadlines, changing requirements, and working with limited resources and information
