As a Business Development Intern, you'll assist in market research, lead generation, customer communication, and support sales strategies for Tencent Cloud.
Business UnitCloud & Smart Industries Group (CSIG) is responsible for promoting the company's cloud and industry Internet strategy. While driving the digitalization of retail, medical, education, transportation and other industries, CSIG helps companies serve users in smarter ways, building a new ecosystem of intelligent industries that connect users and businesses.What the Role EntailsAs Tencent Cloud International continues its rapid expansion, we are seeking passionate and driven undergraduate students who are eager to kickstart their careers in cloud sales. As a Business Development Intern, you will work closely with our experienced sales professionals to understand Tencent Cloud’s products, market positioning, and sales strategies. This hands-on opportunity will allow you to be involved in prospecting, lead generation, client communication, and strategic account management. Through structured training and real-world practice, you will build essential skills that lay the foundation for a thriving career in cloud sales.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research and gather customer insights within targeted industries.
- Identify and approach potential customers through multiple outreach channels.
- Collect information on customer IT infrastructure and cloud usage to support opportunity development.
- Maintain and manage the customer database and sales pipeline with accuracy.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and support outbound campaigns.
- Craft persuasive sales pitches and assist the sales team in qualifying prospects through deep product understanding.
- Undergraduate student graduating by end of 2025, with a strong interest in pursuing a sales career in the Public Cloud industry.
- Must be able to convert to full-time employment by early 2026 if deemed suitable.
- Able to commit to at least a 3-month full-time or 6-month part-time (3 days per week) internship for a thorough evaluation.
- Bright, adaptable, passionate about technology, and entrepreneurial in mindset.
- Excellent communication skills in English and another local language (Chinese, Malay, or Tamil), both at business proficiency level, with a proactive, self-starter attitude.
