We are seeking a talented individual to join our Private Equity & M&A team at Marsh Risk Singapore. This role will be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We will count on you to:
- Lead the development and broking of M&A tax risk insurance solutions within the Private Equity & M&A (“PEMA”) team, driving innovative approaches to complex tax risk challenges.
- Manage the placement of:
(i) Tax insurance solutions addressing intricate international tax structuring and various direct/indirect tax issues (e.g., Tax Liability Policy), including preparing detailed submissions and indication summaries, guiding clients through the underwriting process, and handling related responsibilities; and
(ii) Tax indemnity insurance as part of W&I policies, covering direct and indirect tax risks in complex, multi-jurisdictional M&A transactions.
- Effectively communicate and negotiate the terms of Tax Liability and W&I policies on behalf of clients to secure optimal coverage and risk mitigation.
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, including global private equity funds, multinational corporations, family offices, tax and financial advisors, and other corporates, by: o Participating in marketing and business development activities in Singapore, with occasional travel across Asia (excluding India and Australia); and supporting the preparation and delivery of presentations and market updates to external stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with global tax insurers across various countries and regions to enhance service delivery and market reach.
What you need to have:
- 4 – 6+ years of experience in reputable accounting firms/Big-4/law firms/MNCs
- Experience of working on PE / M&A transactions and have conducted tax structuring and tax advisory work; experience of tax due diligence (“TDD”) work is a plus
- Ability to manage diverse client cultures of PEs and MNCs in the region
- A mindset to step out of the comfort zone and engage in business development activities under a well-supported team setting
