The Summer Internship Programme is a chance to explore your interests, develop new skills, and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced professionals on real projects.
As part of the GPS Control Framework & Risk Advisory in Singapore, the individual will embark on a dynamic 8-12 week programme combining day-to-day business activities and challenging projects. The individual will benefit from getting exposure to the opportunities and challenges of the wealth management industry.

The Summer Internship - GPS Risk Manager reports to the Global Head of GPS Control Framework & Risk Advisory.

YOUR CHALLENGE

People management

  • Contribute to the strengthening of the team spirit and the fostering of a collaborative work environment
  • Build highly impactful relationships with global and regional stakeholders across functions in the Bank

Client management (internal & external)

  • Maintain a continuous and collaborative relationship with the relevant stakeholders and ensure they receive clear guidance and information on key risk topics
  • Act as GPS liaison and provide risk management support for all risk-related matters in Asia such as policy documentation, control related activities not limited to controls execution, operational incidents, regulatory requests, etc
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to analyse, identify and develop new solutions to optimise/ automate control processes with a focus on risk management and mitigation measures
  • Conduct trainings on risk related topics

Business management

  • Support the team’s strategic objectives and operational goals, driving business outcomes and results
  • Provide support to maintain the GPS Asia risk governance and controls framework in accordance to the GPS Risk Management governance, ensuring that such controls meet regulatory requirements and internal policy guidelines and that they are reviewed regularly for effectiveness and consistency
  • Support the control design and administration of the internal control tool (e.g. creating new controls, editing existing controls and assigning roles as required)
  • Identify opportunities to enhance functional efficiency and productivity, proposing process improvements and workflow optimisations, where relevant/appropriate
  • Provide other adhoc business/risk management support as required

Regulatory responsibilities &/or risk management

  • Meet all legal, regulatory, and compliance standards/requirements
  • Adhere to the standards and expectations outlined in the relevant user manuals and guidelines
  • Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviours including, but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Professional & technical

  • Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme from the second year of study onwards, or pursuing a Master’s degree
  • Strong commercial judgement, business acumen and a broad understanding of the financial markets and products
