We’re looking for a Mandarin speaking Staff Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in designing, building, and delivering the next generation of our payments processing platform.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, setting high standards for engineering excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Architect, design, and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable systems that meet critical business needs.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, clients and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions to market.
- Lead the successful delivery of complex projects, ensuring performance, scalability, and code quality.
- Solve challenging technical problems and drive technical excellence across the team.
- Contribute to the long-term technical vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Take an active role in project planning, task prioritisation, and resource allocation.
- Promote best practices in software development, including DevSecOps, agile, and CI/CD.
What you’ll bring
- Extensive experience as a software engineer, with deep expertise in Python.
- Proven full-stack development experience, with strong backend capabilities.
- A strong foundation in software architecture, scalable systems design, and design patterns.
- Proficiency in automated testing approaches, including unit and integration testing.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud-native technologies such as RDS, ECS, DynamoDB, and QLDB.
- Familiarity with tools and frameworks like Gitflow, Bitbucket (including pipelines), JIRA, Sonar, and VSCode.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring engineers and leading by example.
- A track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Mandarin language skills
