Our eCommerce Engineering group aims to reshape our customer’s shopping experience, ultimately making them say, “How did I ever live without Coupang”. Created by strong engineering team from different skillsets out of global talents, eCommerce Engineering is evolving at an unparalleled pace to become the world class eCommerce Platform in the markets we serve.
eCommerce Engineering is responsible for Coupang core eCommerce services, as well as new emerging business services Coupang constantly invest to wow our customers, like Coupang Eats, Coupang Fresh...etc. Our vision is to build the world class eCommerce Platform by obsessing over reliable and effortlessly shopping experiences, through a highly productive engineering team. Job Overview
The Pricing team is one of the core pillars of Coupang’s business and is responsible for helping determine the price of every product sold on Coupang. As the Pricing team is responsible for serving hundreds of millions of requests every day our mission is to build and maintain highly scalable and extensible platforms that is also highly availability and robust.
As part of our Pricing team, you will directly architect and implement our next generation pricing determination platforms. You will help the team to bring industry best practices in software development and operations while improving their engineering skills to build pioneering e-commerce experience in new global markets. Working closely with a group of engineers in multiple geographic locations, you’ll solve challenge problems at scale with high reliability. Your efforts will directly have an impact on tens of millions of users every single day!
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or electrical/electronic engineering, mathematics or equivalent
- 8+ years of solid work with fundamental algorithms, system design, and large distributed systems
- 5+ years of coding experience in Java or a similar language
- Hands-on experience in building large scale real-time service
* This role is based in Singapore.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ecommerce experience, with a focus or exposure to Pricing systems
- Experience setting the culture of a team and ensuring code quality across a team
- Deep understanding of Operational Excellence and what it takes to run and monitor highly available systems
- Experience working with AWS technologies such as S3, Kafka, EMR, and others
- A desire to grow those around you both technically and professionally
- Ability to challenge, professionally and respectfully, the existing norms to improve overall systems and processes.
- Ability to work in multicultural, cross functional team

Document Return Policy
