Join our dynamic team as a (Senior) Corporate Counsel and contribute to the development of implementing best practices in data privacy for Renesas. This role lets you showcase your expertise in providing expert legal advice relating to data privacy and protection requirements, designing our precedents, contributing to our sustainability reporting, negotiating contract terms and collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Renesas’ policies, practices and guidance relating to data privacy;
- Partner with key business stakeholders, particularly our Information Security Division, to ensure data privacy issues are considered to support our corporate strategy, our products and services;
- Respond to enquiries and issues relating to data privacy practices including the right to be forgotten, the withdrawal of consent and related data subject rights requests and prepare email communications in respect of same;
- Maintain our global understanding of applicable compliance, legislative and regulatory requirements and obligations relating to data privacy;
- Monitor global trends and recommend and design our approach; and
- Review and provide timely drafting responses to customer or vendor contracts with data privacy and processing terms.
- A qualified lawyer with excellent academic credentials;
- Demonstrated deep knowledge of data privacy, data handling and data classification;
- Demonstrated experience in managing data privacy issues for a global organisation;
- Expertise in global and European data protection laws and practises and an in-depth understanding of GDPR;
- Capable of conducting data privacy compliance reviews and audits;
- Ability to review, analyse and organise documentary and factual evidence
- Strong attention to detail;
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and online research tools.

- Excellent written, organisational and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines and manage own caseload;
- Sound communication skills including the ability to liaise with stakeholders across our business;
- Ability to work well in a team and individually;
- Keen to exercise initiative.
