We are seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our Asia Pacific International Government (IG) Team. This role is a customer-facing technical specialist supporting pre-sales activities for spatial intelligence software solutions bundled with satellite imagery and geospatial data, serving government, defense, and intelligence customers across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

This role partners closely with Sales, regional partners, and global Product and Engineering teams to translate mission, operational, and policy-driven requirements into technically viable, sovereign-compliant solutions. Deployments may span cloud, on-premise secure environments, and tactical or edge systems operating in denied, degraded, or disconnected environments, including unmanned platforms.

Responsibilities: A day in the life/What the position will be doing:

·       Support the full pre-sales lifecycle for APAC IG customers, including technical discovery, solution positioning and qualification across direct and parter-led engagements

·       Deliver tailored product demonstrations, technical briefings, and proof-of-concepts aligned to regional defense use cases such as ISR, border security, maritime domain awareness, disaster response and other national security operations.

·       Design end-to-end spatial intelligence solutions integrating software platforms, satellite imagery, and third-party data sources.

·       Architect deployments that address APAC-specific constraints, including:

o   Data sovereignty and in-country hosting requirements

o   Hybrid architectures (sovereign cloud, private cloud, on-premise)

o   Air-gapped, disconnected, or low-bandwidth operational environments

·       Conduct technical qualification of opportunities, assessing feasibility, integration effort, security posture, and deployment risks.

·       Provide technical inputs for RFIs, RFPs, and tenders common to APAC defense procurement cycles.

·       Contribute to solution descriptions and compliance matrices sections within proposals and Statements of Work.

·       Support customer trials, evaluations, and acceptance testing at customer sites, including military bases, command centers, and field locations.

·       Provide hands-on troubleshooting for deployed solutions, including edge and tactical environments such as unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and mobile ground platforms.

·       Work closely with regional partners, system integrators, and resellers, supporting joint solution design and demonstrations.

·       Act as a technical liaison between APAC Sales teams and global Product, Engineering, and Operations teams.

·       Support sales team in leading internal technical solutioning discussions and review processes.

·       Provide structured feedback from APAC customers to influence product roadmap decisions, localization, and deployment models.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (e.g., Aerospace, Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Math)

  • Experience supporting ISR, UAS, aerospace, or defense system integrations

  • Understanding of 3D terrain data formats (e.g., DEM/DTED, Cesium 3D Tiles) and coordinate systems (e.g., WGS84, UTM)

  • Experience supporting integration with SDKs and APIs (C++, REST, gRPC, file-based, or stream interfaces) in real-time or batch contexts

  • Familiarity with GNSS/INS navigation systems, video odometry, or visual-inertial fusion stacks

  • Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and field teams to deliver successful customer outcomes

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically or internationally (average ~25%, with peaks up to 50%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Vision, or a related technical field

  • Exposure to Linux-based embedded systems and configurations (e.g., systemd, Yocto, Docker)

  • Familiarity with OGC geospatial standards (WMS, WMTS, WFS) or real-time geospatial streaming protocols

  • Experience working with sensor calibration, test plans, or field deployments of ISR or robotics systems

  • Demonstrated success integrating technical systems in a customer-facing or OEM support role

  • Background in AI/ML applications related to computer vision, sensor fusion, or ISR analytics
