About the Role
Abnormal Security is looking for an enthusiastic and driven software engineer to join the Messages Security Products (MSP) team. The MSP organization at Abnormal Security develops and maintains customer-facing email security products that protect enterprises from sophisticated threats. As part of our team, you will build and enhance high-scale, high-complexity systems, ensuring they remain stable, reliable, and are continuously evolving. We’re looking for Software Engineers who thrive in challenging environments, excel at solving complex engineering problems, and are eager to drive innovation in enterprise-grade security solutions. What you will do
- Work with other software engineers in the team to develop robust and scalable features
- Assume ownership of the reliability of the features you develop, including comprehensive unit tests and rigorous integration testing
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide technical support to effectively troubleshoot and resolve customer issues
- Communicate effectively with the team in an async manner. Display a strong sense of initiative and ownership in providing updates, discussing challenges and proposing solutions without prompting
- Demonstrate a high degree of enthusiasm and strong desire to learn, with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts
Must Haves
- BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems or other related engineering field
- 3+ years of experience as a backend engineer, developing web applications.
- At least one Software Engineering internship experience in the industry
- Experience working individually as well as in groups on a regular basis, proficient in asynchronous and written communication
- Experience participating in hackathons, innovation challenges or building out personal projects
Nice to Have
- Experience with our stack: Python, Go, AWS, K8s, Django, Spark, Prometheus
- Experience leading a small team to build a feature or component from scratch
