Job Description

You will be at the forefront in building the next generation of systems that provide connectivity and access into Visa. The access systems are fundamental to the Visa Business and amongst only a handful of the most mission critical systems at Visa. You will deliver access solutions that fit into the wider efforts to re-engineer Visa’s core processing systems. You will join an outstanding and expanding software engineering team. Nothing less than absolute success is required. The position is based in Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop highly scalable and fault tolerant distributed components
• Develop and document high level and detailed design specifications using Object Oriented methodologies
• Code & unit test system components and applications in a range of programming languages
• Quickly gain domain expertise in critical application areas to SME level
• Champion software development best practices such as coding standards, code reviews, secure coding practices, integration, and regression tests etc.
• Work independently with minimal guidance and role model for other team members
• Proactively work to identify issues and provide solutions for the same
• Partner with like-minded colleagues, who will help, support and challenge you every day

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate: 6 months to 2 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree 
• Proficiency in at least one programming language or technology. This includes, but is not limited to: Java, C/C++, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AngularJS.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
• Knowledge of database systems and SQL.
• Understanding of web development practices and frameworks.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code to solve complex problems.
• Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting issues in existing codebases.
• Demonstrated ability to think analytically and logically to solve technical problems.
• Ability to break down complex problems into smaller, manageable components and develop effective solutions.
• Highly driven and resourceful with a passion for learning and growth.
• Strong ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
