Software Architect
As a Software Architect, you will join a global FX engineering team who develops and maintains a global trading solution for FX NDF Matching platform that brings together the benefits of an NDF central limit order book and clearing to offer a unique solution for the global foreign exchange market fulfilling the demand for NDF market infrastructure in Asia and around the globe.
Role Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility of the overall technical aspects of the solution and represent the area as the technical owner in internal and external collaborator forums
- Applies knowledge of technologies, design patterns and standards to proactively identify and handle the implementation of all architectural changes and improvements to the solution
- Work closely with Product Owners and Technical Product Managers for aligning and expanding the scope as necessary to the upcoming business trends and demands while maintaining or improving the non-functional aspects such as performance, resiliency, security, hardware efficiency and operability
- Proactively identify technical enhancements to cater the existing functional and non-functional requirements and partner with senior architects to guide teams through effective design and implementation
- Translate business objectives into technical specifications, evaluate architectural feasibility, and recommend alternative designs where applicable that satisfy requirements with lower effort and risk
- Contribute to high-level design of requirements, provide effort estimations, and support delivery management in planning and scheduling implementation
- Collaborate with Technical Operations and DevOps to define operational and deployment requirements, CI/CD process, release delivery process, monitoring frameworks, and operational documents to make sure resilient, reliable production rollouts and smooth operations
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to enhance overall delivery quality by identifying test scenarios that can increase coverage and working together to improve the effectiveness of testing process and tooling
- Collaborate with Engineering Leadership to influence the adoption of architectural frameworks, standards, policies and best practices
- Drive and provide the leadership to the teams for high quality and timely delivery of customer solutions
- Proactively identify and highlight any technical or delivery risks and work very closely with the other business, quality and delivery management partners in the overall software delivery
- Be responsible for training and mentoring all direct and indirect reports that include Engineers and junior Architects who work for the area and in the related customer deliveries
- Play the people manager role for a team of Tech Leads and Associate Architects
- Establish that the team as an entity and everyone in the team is following the recommended SDLC best practices and standards
- Actively take part in architecture governance discussions and to give recommendations and feedback for overall company software architectural principles and SDLC best practices
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or similar technical field
- Proven software engineering and architect background in C++ or Java technologies
- Over 10 years of industry experience and at least 2 years’ experience at the architect capacity
- Experience in providing technical leadership to medium size teams
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively across teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships
- Thorough understanding of the full SDLC and related tools
- Hands-on UNIX/Linux System Administration skills, with hands-on experience managing complex environments
- Hands-on proficiency in cloud technology, different open-source technologies and integration of them
- Being detailed with modern IT trends
- Experience and knowledge in agile methodologies
- Prior experience and domain knowledge in trading and credit systems, would be an added benefit
