YOUR MISSION

As a Senior HR Manager, People Operations & Compliance, you will be a strategic partner within the People Operations team, driving operational excellence, governance, and transformation across the region. This role focuses on integrating, standardising, and digitalising HR processes across Maisons and corporate functions, leveraging technology and best practices to create a scalable, compliant, and employee-centric HR operating model. The incumbent will champion process transformation, organisation change, and continuous improvement by leveraging technology, automation, and best practices to deliver a scalable, compliant and employee-centric HR operating model.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Operations Excellence & Transformation

  • Drive data governance and HR data quality across systems.

  • Lead the delivery of end-to-end HR operations, ensuring an exceptional employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.

  • Ensure HR operational processes comply with local employment legislation, regulatory requirements, internal controls and company policies.

  • Oversee the timely, accurate and compliant execution of high volume HR transactions while maintaining strong operational controls, audit readiness and risk mitigation.

  • Partner closely with HR Business Partners, Center of Excellence (CoEs), Payroll, HRIS and other stakeholders to seamless delivery of HR services.

  • Design, standardize and continuously improve HR operational processes, policies, SOPs and process documentation to  enhance consistency, efficiency and service quality.

  • Lead regional HR transformation initiatives, including cross Maisons and corporate function process harmonisation, HR operating model integration, digitalisation, and organisation change management.

Expatriate & Mobility

  • Oversee regional expatriate and international assignment administration, ensuring a seamless employee experience throughout the relocation lifecycle.

  • Coordinate relocation logistics including immigration support, temporary accommodation, relocation arrangement, orientation, schooling assistance and other mobility related services.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure compliance with immigration, tax, and relocation policies.

Payroll, Compliance & Governance

  • Oversees payroll operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across supported markets.

  • Review and validate payroll outputs, statutory submissions, commissions and salary-related payments while ensuring appropriate governance and controls.

  • Manage payroll reporting, including monthly variance analysis, reconciliation, and management reporting.

  • Lead annual compensation operational activities, including salary reviews, bonus payments, and related administration.

  • Oversee employment tax reporting and ensure timely resolution of payroll and tax-related employee enquiries.

  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity across HR systems.

  • Partner with Internal Audit, Internal Compliance, Finance and external auditors to support audits, control reviews and payroll walkthrough.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing People Operations team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Build organisational capability through succession planning and skill development, setting clear performance expectations and driving innovation.

  • Establish clear performance expectations, monitor operational KPIs and service level agreements (SLAs), and implement improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality and employee satisfaction.

  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset by encouraging innovation, operational excellence, and adoption of digital solutions across the team.

SCOPE

Regional responsibility covering South Asia & Oceania, with primary operational ownership for Singapore. Provide oversight and support for payroll, HR governance, and regional HR operational initiatives across Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam & Oceania. Partner with global stakeholders to drive standardization and operational excellence.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 9 years of hands-on HR experience, primarily in HR operations management.

  • Degree in Business, HR, or equivalent.

  • Profound knowledge of full-spectrum HR operations, payroll, C&B, and systems, with a proactive mindset for process improvement.

  • Strong knowledge of Singapore employment, CPF, and Income Tax laws. Experience in grievance handling, disciplinary procedures, and employee relations.

  • Experience with Workday and SAP system implementation/enhancement is an advantage.

  • Ability to balance strategic planning with practical application, make independent decisions, manage conflicting priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong ability to build authentic relationships and lead, coach, and mentor team members.
