Job Description
About the role:
Join Takeda as the Site Head for our Singapore, Woodlands Biologics Manufacturing Site where you will lead a team of 400+ employees in a 24/7 biologics operation. You will also represent the site internally and externally to meet our patients needs and exceed regulatory requirements. As part of the global Biologics Operating Unit (OpU) Leadership Team, you will report to the Global Head of the Biologics OpU and work with operational and functional teams both locally and globally. Direct reports include directors for all manufacturing operations, project management, plant engineering, and critical systems, business excellence, IT, plant supply chain, Finance, HR and EHS.
How you will contribute:

  • Lead the Woodlands SLT (Site Leadership Team) and direct Plant Operations.
  • Build and implement an organizational structure that meets business and process needs.
  • Improve talent development and ensure team qualification and process compliance.
  • Develop potential successors for key positions; acquire top talent.
  • Ensure reliable manufacturing operations and improve yields and capacity.
  • Provide commercial material according to plan.
  • Help implement new products, processes, and technologies.
  • Develop and monitor financial plans and budgets.
  • Align strategic plans with GMS Network strategy.
  • Manage resources and costs.
  • Implement quality procedures, EHS programs, and legal requirements.
  • Lead continuous improvement in operations.


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering required; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 10 years in manufacturing leadership within a GMP-regulated environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of end-to-end pharmaceutical manufacturing, including production, disposition, and supply chain management of finished products. Strong knowledge of cGMP standards and Quality Management Systems in EU and FDA-regulated environments. Hands-on experience in biologics manufacturing is highly preferred. Experience with new plant start-ups is highly desirable.
  • Leadership & Management: Proven ability to lead large teams, manage cross-functional departments, and drive operational excellence. Strong people leadership, change management, and organizational transformation skills. Experience in attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.
  • Business Acumen: Solid commercial knowledge, negotiation skills, and expertise in budgeting and strategic planning. Ability to align manufacturing operations with business objectives and long-term growth strategies.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong capability to drive cultural change and foster a collaborative work environment.


Important Considerations:
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to create quality products and we aim to create a safe environment for our team members. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product or putting anyone at the site in harm's way. You may:

  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
  • Work in a cold, wet environment.
  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours.
  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

Takeda's Singapore biologics manufacturing facility focuses on manufacturing potentially life-saving medicines for patients suffering from rare blood disorders such as Hemophilia A and B. As part of the company's Biologics Operating Unit network, the site is Takeda's only biologics drug substance manufacturing facility in Asia. The facility has two buildings, including manufacturing suites and laboratories, as well as Takeda's first positive energy building certified by Singapore's Building and Construction Authority's Green Mark scheme in 2022.
