The Opportunity
Program Implementation & Management: Implement and enforce the corporate and local SHE programs (e.g., LOTO, Hot Work, Fall Protection, Chemical Hygiene, Biosafety, and Contractor Safety) to ensure operational compliance and minimize occupational risk.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Proactively track and ensure compliance with all local EHS regulations (MOM, SCDF, NEA, etc.) and corporate standards. Conduct regular gap analyses, maintain the site's Risk Assessment registry, and provide SHE input for all change requests (MOCs).
Advanced Process Safety Management: Lead the development and implementation of specialized programs like Process Safety Management (PSM) and the Combustible Dust Explosion Program to mitigate high-hazard risks inherent in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Auditing, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement: Coordinate internal and external SHE/Fire Safety Audits (e.g., ISO 45001, SS651), manage the Total Workplace Safety & Health Committee, and drive and track the closure of all CAPA items arising from incidents, audits, and suggestions.
Technical Expertise & Project Support: Serve as the site's SHE technical expert, providing essential SHE inputs and consultation for all site projects, capital investments, and new equipment/SOP changes to ensure safety by design.
Data Management & Training: Develop and communicate SHE metrics to management, act as the site's incident tracking system (STARI) administrator, and ensure the SHE Training Matrix is up-to-date to maintain a trained and qualified workforce.
Who you are
You should hold a Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent with at least 5 to 7 years of safety, health and environmental experience preferably in manufacturing environment. Related work experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical operating environment is a plus.
A candidate who is a registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with Ministry of Manpower is strongly preferred.
A good understanding of all local occupational safety & health, and fire safety regulations is a must.
