Job Description
Mission & Impact
The SVP is part of an high‑impact, SWAT‑style transformation unit focused on resolving UOB’s most complex cross‑functional challenges. The team conducts deep diagnostic reviews across Business and Support Units, identifies root causes, and designs integrated, future‑ready services leveraging the bank’s enterprise platforms like AI/ML, data and analytics, workflow automation, integration/Microservices, blockchain and tokenisation capabilities, and new services built to close capability gaps.
This role accelerates UOB’s evolution into a network‑platform organisation where products, channels, partners, data, and technology converge to deliver intelligent, interoperable, and scalable services that unlock new business value and ecosystem growth.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Platform and Network Services Growth
- Develop platform and on‑demand service use cases with business units.
- Manage strategic partner onboarding and ensure platform performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Expand the bank’s ecosystem connectivity and network‑service capabilities.
Be part of a SWAT‑Style Convergence Delivery Model
- Be part of a rapid‑response transformation unit deployed into priority problem areas.
- Define engagement models, triage mechanisms, and operating cadence.
- Lead structured diagnostic cycles; root‑cause analysis, process mining, systems mapping, stakeholder interviews, and data‑driven assessments.
- Deliver end‑to‑end remediation from assessment to prototype and rollout within compressed timelines.
Build Reusable Enterprise Blueprints & Accelerators
- Convert recurring problem patterns into enterprise templates; reference architectures, process models, integration patterns, API/automation standards.
- Partner with technology and domain teams to industrialise reusable modules aligned with governance, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Establish an organisational knowledge repository to accelerate scaling across markets.
Orchestrate Multi‑Domain Innovation Group Capabilities
- Integrate capabilities across AI, Data, Blockchain, Automation, and Developer Platforms to deliver converged solutions.
- Establish cohesive design principles to eliminate fragmentation across squads.
- Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise governance and risk frameworks.
Build and Operationalise Strategic Partnerships
- Develop and deepen partnerships with fintechs and service providers.
- Implement structured onboarding: sandbox access, certification, data-sharing agreements, security assessments, and commercial alignment.
- Create partner roadmaps that expand the bank’s network capabilities.
Incubate and Productionize Emerging Technologies
- Run experimentation cycles across Data, AI, and Blockchain; mature successful prototypes into enterprise-grade services.
- Ensure clear documentation, governance, SLAs, and adoption pathways for new capabilities.
Foster a Culture of Rapid Innovation & Modern Engineering
- Champion experimentation, systems thinking, and solution-driven engineering.
- Coach teams in problem exploration, prototyping, storyboarding, and iterative delivery.
- Partner with Innovation Academy and HR to uplift skills in design thinking, AI literacy, agile delivery, and modern engineering.
Shape Future-State Processes and Value Models
- Define cross‑domain process flows, integration needs, API/data standards, and interoperability requirements.
- Develop value hypotheses tied to revenue, cost, risk, and experience outcomes, supported by baseline metrics.
Produce High‑Quality Enterprise Artefacts
- Translate workshop outputs into clear BRDs, process maps, user stories, business cases, and value scorecards.
- Ensure artefacts are enterprise‑compliant, version‑controlled, and ready for delivery handover.
Align Stakeholders and Drive Enterprise Execution
- Lead alignment forums across business, technology, risk, data, and governance partners.
- Define ownership models, RACIs, guardrails, funding needs, and delivery sequencing.
- Maintain momentum through structured governance, progress tracking, and transparent communication.
Qualifications Core Experience
- 15+ years’ leadership in technology, digital services, enterprise platforms, and large‑scale transformation.
- 5+ years leading high‑performing, cross‑functional engineering/transformation teams in complex enterprise environments.
- Proven success driving enterprise‑wide transformation involving multiple business units, regulators, and ecosystem partners.
Technical & Domain Expertise
- Strong grasp of APIs, microservices, integration architecture, and event‑driven design; able to architect secure, scalable, interoperable service layers.
- Working knowledge of AI, data, blockchain, interoperability frameworks, and regulatory considerations.
- Hands‑on proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js for prototyping and technology evaluation.

- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate objectives into actionable roadmaps.
