We are seeking a Senior Vice President, Applied AI Product Manager- Innovation to advance a portfolio of high-value AI opportunities across APAC.

This is a commercially oriented product leadership role operating at the intersection of client needs, business strategy, AI and innovation delivery. You will work with clients, business leaders and senior stakeholders to identify valuable problems, determine where AI can create a meaningful advantage and lead selected opportunities from discovery through prototype, pilot, adoption or handoff.

You will be accountable for ensuring that AI opportunities are well defined, commercially relevant, technically feasible, responsibly designed and connected to measurable business or client outcomes.

This is not a hands-on engineering role. However, you will need sufficient AI, data and product fluency to evaluate feasibility, challenge assumptions, make informed product decisions and work credibly with design, engineering, data, risk and business teams.

Unlike a traditional product role with established backlog, you will operate in emerging areas where the problem, product proposition and path to adoption may still be forming.  Success will require commercial judgement, stakeholder credibility and the ability to create clarity and momentum in ambiguous environments.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Applied AI portfolio and opportunity leadership

  • Manage a portfolio of applied AI opportunities aligned with APAC business priorities, client needs and BNY’s enterprise AI strategy.
  • Identify, assess and prioritize opportunities based on client value, commercial potential, operational impact, strategic relevance, technical feasibility and risk.
  • Establish clear criteria for progressing opportunities from discovery to prototype, pilot, adoption or handoff.
  • Maintain visibility across the opportunity portfolio, including progress, dependencies, risks, decisions and expected outcomes.

Client and stakeholder engagement

  • Build trusted relationships with APAC business leaders, clients and senior global stakeholders, acting as a credible thought partner on applied AI, innovation and emerging technology.
  • Lead strategic client and stakeholder conversations to uncover unmet needs, workflow challenges and commercially relevant AI opportunities.
  • Work with BNY businesses and strategic partners to shape engagements that generate actionable insights and advance priority opportunities.
  • Translate between business, client and technical perspectives to create shared understanding and secure commitment to action.

Product delivery and value realization

  • Lead AI-enabled initiatives through the product lifecycle, from discovery and validation through prototype, pilot and handoff.
  • Set product priorities and make informed trade-offs across user value, commercial benefit, technical feasibility, delivery effort and risk.
  • Coordinate product, design, engineering, data, risk, legal, compliance, operations and business stakeholders to maintain momentum and resolve dependencies.
  • Define and track measurable outcomes, including adoption, commercial impact, efficiency gains, user experience and risk reduction.
  • Develop transition and adoption plans with permanent business or product owners and identify opportunities to scale successful capabilities across APAC.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate combines commercial acumen, product judgment, stakeholder influence and disciplined delivery. You do not need to be an engineer or data scientist, but you must be able to engage confidently with technical teams and senior audiences on how AI creates value, what it requires and where it introduces risk.

Experience and capabilities

  • Significant experience in product management, innovation, strategy, consulting or business transformation, ideally within or alongside financial services.
  • Demonstrated ability to shape product vision, define user and business needs, prioritize opportunities and lead initiatives through validation, delivery and adoption.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to develop evidence-based recommendations for senior decision-makers.
  • Proven ability to influence senior business leaders, clients and cross-functional stakeholders across complex organizations.
  • Experience leading client or stakeholder discovery, co-creation, design-thinking or value-mapping engagements.
  • Working knowledge of generative AI, AI-enabled automation and agentic workflows, including their data requirements, limitations, enterprise applications and associated risks.
  • Understanding of responsible AI principles, including privacy, explainability, human oversight, model risk and governance.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and create compelling product narratives, business cases and executive materials.
  • Ability to operate effectively across APAC markets and within a global, highly regulated organization.

Behavioural attributes

The strongest candidate will be:

  • Comfortable in operating in ambiguous situations where the problem, owner or product direction may still be evolving.
  • Commercially curious and focused on solving meaningful problems rather than applying AI for its own sake.
  • Highly collaborative, low ego and able to work fluidly across business and technical disciplines.
  • Open to direct feedback and able to challenge assumptions constructively.
  • Resilient when priorities change or early ideas do not survive testing.
  • Skilled at creating clarity, structure and momentum in complex environments.
  • Risk-aware and thoughtful about the implications of applying AI in a regulated enterprise.
  • Motivated by measurable outcomes, sustainable adoption and value realization.
