Job Description
We are seeking a visionary and highly accomplished Senior Staff Engineer to lead the development and implementation of our next-generation battery and power systems. This role will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our industry-leading communication and security products.
Lead and Strategize: Define and drive the long-term technical roadmap for battery and power systems within Motorola Solutions. Champion innovative solutions that address evolving customer needs and market trends.
Technical Expertise: Possess a deep and proven understanding of battery technologies, power electronics, and related electrical engineering principles. Stay at the forefront of advancements in battery management systems (BMS), lithium-ion batteries, and emerging energy storage technologies.
Product Development Leadership: Lead the design and development of complex, high-performance battery and power systems for mission-critical applications. Own the technical vision, drive innovation, and ensure the successful execution of projects from concept through production.
Team Mentorship & Collaboration: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of talented electrical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Technical Risk Management: Conduct thorough electrical tolerance analysis and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to ensure product robustness and reliability, mitigate risks, and ensure adherence to stringent safety standards.
Testing and Validation: Develop and lead comprehensive test plans, procedures, and fixtures to rigorously validate product performance, ensuring compliance with functional specifications and industry standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across design, manufacturing, engineering, and product management to ensure seamless product development and successful market launch.
Strategic Thinking: Actively participate in strategic planning initiatives, identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and trends to create a competitive edge for Motorola Solutions.
Thought Leadership: Represent Motorola Solutions as a subject matter expert in the field of battery and power systems. Present technical findings and insights at industry conferences and contribute to technical publications.

Basic Requirements
Degree or Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of proven experience in designing and developing battery systems, power supplies, or related electronic circuits, with a demonstrated track record of leading successful product launches.
Expert-level understanding of electrical design principles, including schematic design, circuit analysis, power electronics, and battery management systems (BMS).
Deep expertise in lithium-ion battery technologies, including cell chemistry, charging/discharging characteristics, and safety considerations.
Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable products.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information to stakeholders.
