Summary

We fly differently at Scoot. And we communicate differently too.
If you're the kind of person who can turn a dry policy update into something people actually want to read, we'd very much like you to join the crew.
As our Senior Specialist on the Internal Communications team, you'll be the engine behind the stories that keep our people informed, inspired, and proud to bleed yellow. Working hand-in-hand with HR and business stakeholders to bring Scoot's people initiatives to life, you will craft campaigns, manage communication channels, run events and help employees understand where we're headed and why it matters.
You work independently, take ownership and know the difference between a piece of content that informs and one that truly connects. Bring on good work, good vibes, and occasionally very good puns!

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

1. Communications Planning & Execution

  • Keep the internal communications calendar in great shape from tracking what's coming, what's due, to what's about to sneak up on everyone.
  • Turn initiative briefs into structured communications plans that actually make sense: right audience, right message, right channel, right time.
  • Spot gaps, overlaps and risks, and flag them before anyone has to ask.
  • Own campaigns end-to-end from the first spark of an idea to delivery and the post-campaign review

2. Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory

  • Get in early with HR project owners and business stakeholders to understand the why behind each initiative before the what gets decided.
  • Be the voice of the employee in the room. If a proposed communications approach won't land well, say so and bring a better idea.
  • Make sure everything we put out sounds like Scoot: consistent, on-narrative, and never stuffy.
  • Build relationships that make stakeholders want to loop you in at the start, not scramble to find you at the end.

3. Content Development

  • Create content people want to read and watch. If it goes to our people, it should be clear, engaging and unmistakably Scoot.
  • Flex your tone across audiences and formats because what works for crew on the go isn't the same as what works for a desk-bound colleague.
  • Develop supporting materials for change and culture initiatives that help employees not just understand what's happening, but actually care about it.

4. Channel Management

  • Keep Scoot's internal communication channels (Workvivo, Microsoft Teams) current, organised and working hard.
  • Own the governance from publishing cadences, content structure to archiving so our channels stay useful and relevant
  • Always look out for ways to make our channels better. If something isn't working, say so and bring a fix.

5. Event Management

  • Plan and run internal people events like campaign activation and town halls that people leave feeling something, not just something attended.
  • Handle logistics and on-the-day execution so that everything goes smoothly
  • Work with stakeholders on event content and presentations that are sharp, on-brand and worth showing up for.

6. Communications Effectiveness

  • Track how our communications are landing and keep improving them with what you find.
  • Keep a running eye on recurring employee questions and content gaps.
