Zendesk is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Agent Workspace Messaging Team in Singapore. You'll help build a next-generation messaging platform that empowers customers to deliver exceptional user experiences, working toward an omni-channel customer engagement product.
You will work with a diverse team of skilled engineers developing a highly-responsive web application. You'll partner with product and UX teams to improve workflows and develop new features.
What you'll doBuild backend systems for our next-generation Messaging platform serving millions of users daily
Create modern experiences on our Agent Workspace product working full-stack
Collaborate with Product Managers, Team Leads, and Designers in small teams using bi-weekly sprints
Contribute to technical design discussions and propose innovative solutions
Ensure platform scalability, performance, and security in collaboration with ops teams
Mentor junior team members through pairing sessions and code reviews
Participate in coding, pull request reviews, and testing
Proven software engineering experience with strong capabilities in Java, Python, Ruby, or Go
Working knowledge of JavaScript, Node.JS, and React
Strong understanding of web technologies and frontend-backend interactions
Experience building scalable, distributed systems (Kafka, GraphQL, gRPC experience a plus)
Strong troubleshooting skills using metrics, logs, and traces
Good command of data structures and algorithms
Excellent communication skills with a customer-first mindset
Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
