Join the Consumer Experience (CX) Engineering team at Grab. We're focused on enhancing consumer interaction by working on essential elements like the user experience, content discovery, and user lifecycle including growth, engagement, and loyalty. Our mission is to connect consumers to Grab's marketplace, helping them discover and access services and partners.

Get to Know the Role

You will deliver high-quality services that support millions of user journeys in Grab's app, from the login screen to key interfaces, across 8 countries. Based full-time at Grab's One North office, you'll report to the Senior Software Engineering Manager.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Develop solutions in Golang to improve availability, scalability, and efficiency of services.
• Work with the engineering team to optimize design and architecture for scale and performance.
• Review code and designs to uphold development standards.
• Plan service capacity and enhance software performance.
• Collaborate with product and experience teams on feature specifications and prototypes.
• Build backend services alongside the infrastructure team and troubleshoot issues.
• Analyze, design, and debug large-scale systems, resolving production incidents during on-call responsibilities.
• Participate in interviews to recruit top talent and mentor peers with technical guidance.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

Backend Skills

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with full-stack web applications and distributed systems.
• Expertise in Golang, focusing on concurrency and optimization techniques.
• Practical experience with distributed systems, streaming services, and queuing models.
• Proficiency in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, ScyllaDB).
• Background in site reliability tasks, such as monitoring, capacity planning, and managing large-scale web services.
• Familiarity with networking protocols and system internals.

Frontend Skills (Bonus)

• Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Knowledge of frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Svelte.
• Understanding of concepts like responsive design, accessibility, state management (e.g., Redux), and progressive web applications.

Full Stack & DevOps

• Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and real-time data handling.
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
