The Senior Social Engineering Threat Analyst defines, develops, and implements Technology Controls and Information Security-related policies, programs, capabilities, and tools that protect TD customers, colleagues, brand reputation, and digital channels from social engineering threats.

This role provides specialized expertise in assessing cyber risk, identifying control gaps, investigating malicious activity, and recommending risk-based solutions across customer protection and employee phishing operations. The threat scope includes phishing, smishing, vishing, spoofing, impersonation, social media and brand abuse, malicious domains and websites, and email-delivered malware.

The role participates in projects of moderate to high complexity and delivers complex reporting, analysis, and assessments at the functional, business line, or enterprise level. The individual serves as a subject matter expert and works across Cyber Security, Fraud, Digital, Telecommunications, Legal, Brand Protection, Operations, and external industry partners to reduce exposure and strengthen organizational resilience.

  • Assess, investigate, and respond to social engineering threats targeting TD customers, colleagues, brand, and digital assets, including phishing, smishing, vishing, spoofing, impersonation, social media abuse, and other malicious campaigns.
  • Investigate and scope confirmed malicious email activity, analyze campaign behavior, identify affected users and assets, and support timely containment, remediation, and escalation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform malware triage for email-delivered threats, document findings, and coordinate escalation or incident support when broader risk is identified.
  • Lead digital risk protection activities by identifying, analyzing, and supporting the disruption of malicious domains, phishing infrastructure, fraudulent websites, social media abuse, and brand impersonation.
  • Monitor emerging threat activity and threat actor tactics, techniques, and trends; translate findings into actionable intelligence and risk-based recommendations for preventative and detective control improvements.
  • Identify control gaps across customer-facing and employee-facing threat operations and recommend solutions that improve detection coverage, response effectiveness, and resilience.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve policies, procedures, standards, playbooks, case-management practices, and operational controls for social engineering threat operations.
  • Identify and advance automation opportunities that improve the consistency, scalability, and efficiency of triage, investigation, response, disruption, and reporting activities.
  • Produce complex reporting, threat assessments, trend analysis, and strategic insights for leadership, stakeholders, and partner teams to support informed risk management and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Cyber Security, Fraud, Digital, Telecommunications, Legal, Brand Protection, Operations, and external industry partners to coordinate investigations, mitigation, threat disruption, and control enhancements.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects of moderate to high complexity involving technology controls, information security risk, customer protection strategy, employee phishing defense, and operational transformation.
  • Provide specialized guidance, share knowledge, and contribute to consistent investigative and analytical practices across the Social Engineering Threat Operations team.
