About the role
As VAST scales across Asia Pacific, we are expanding our Singapore pre-sales team to meet accelerating demand from the region’s most data-intensive customers. This is a newly created Senior Sales Engineer position, working alongside our APAC Sales and Sales Engineering leadership to win, deploy and grow strategic accounts across Singapore and the wider region.
You will be the technical authority on the ground for some of the most demanding data environments in APAC — partnering with global investment banks, exchanges, asset managers, sovereign institutions and AI-native fintechs as they re-architect for the AI era.

What you’ll do
• Own technical leadership for VAST’s strategic accounts across Singapore’s financial services sector — banks, exchanges, asset managers, capital markets infrastructure and fintech disruptors.
• Lead complex evaluations, benchmarks, system configurations and installations, from initial discovery through to production deployment.
• Develop reference architectures and repeatable solution blueprints for financial services workloads, including market data, ML/AI pipelines, quant research, regulatory analytics and trade surveillance.
• Partner closely with VAST R&D Engineering to shape product direction, contributing to product specification documents informed by frontline customer insight.
• Co-create account strategy with the Sales team, taking ownership of technical positioning, competitive differentiation and long-term customer success.
• Deliver compelling technical presentations, briefings and workshops to C-level executives, enterprise architects and engineering teams.
• Demonstrate authoritative subject matter expertise across distributed storage architectures, file systems, and the broader DAS, NAS and SAN landscape.
• Contribute actively to the recruitment, mentoring and development of the wider APAC Sales Engineering organisation as the team scales.
• Advise on the formation, build-out and ongoing evolution of a regional Support capability.
What we’re looking for
• 5+ years of pre-sales or sales engineering experience supporting the sale of enterprise storage, data platforms or AI infrastructure into large, complex IT organisations.
• Demonstrable experience selling into financial services customers strongly preferred — global or regional banks, exchanges, capital markets, asset management or fintech.
• Deep understanding of classic unstructured data applications alongside next-generation analytics and AI/ML frameworks.
• Strong working knowledge of virtualisation, high-performance computing, high-throughput networking and enterprise security.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication — equally credible in a CIO briefing, a technical proof-of-concept and a whiteboard session with a quant or platform engineering team.
• A self-starter who thrives in an unstructured, high-growth environment and can operate with autonomy.
• Positive energy, intellectual curiosity, optimism and a clear builder’s mindset.
