About the team

What you’ll do

Airwallex is building a centralised risk platform that will harness advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to enable real-time decisioning across a diverse range of product lines and platforms. The risk product domain is responsible for building the platforms, engines & case management whilst also delivering the risk models so you will be involved in crafting the full end-to-end risk capability.

This role is based in Singapore OR Shanghai.

Responsibilities:

• Owner of fraud strategy balancing great customer experiences and risk effectively across all fraud types with a particular focus on Acquiring related fraud types (consumer fraud, merchant fraud).

• Drive the analytical capabilities and tooling for Airwallex’s merchant facing fraud prevention products as well as internal tooling to support fraud mitigation and prevention.

• Own the roadmap and strategy for fraud analytics projects in close collaboration with the risk product and engineering teams.

• Responsible for managing an expanding team of data analysts providing hands on support on building effective rules and models and supporting growth and career development.

• Responsible for defining standards and best practices for the risk analytics function and clearly defining ways of working between the team and the various stakeholders.

• Work closely with our engineering and data science teams to build best in class analytical products and systems.

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:

• 8+ years of relevant experience, in Product, Analytics or Data Science related roles.

• Extensive experience and a deep understanding of scenarios & typologies in Acquiring/Payments Fraud.

• Proven experience in delivering fraud prevention products and analytics in the payments industry.

• Experience in additional areas of risk across fraud, money laundering, credit and other risk types preferred.

• 2+ years of management experience in managing analytics team or other relevant functions.

• Experience in communicating the results of analyses to leadership teams to influence the strategy.

• Passion for management and creating opportunities for career growth for team members.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in technology, financial services and/or a high growth environment is advantageous.
