You will also coordinate the procurement and assembly of components, identify sources of critical parts, and resolve technical issues to ensure peak performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or execute RF and plasma engineering projects, including development and management of key suppliers
  • Independently identify and troubleshoot a broad range of complex RF/plasma issues with minimal supervision
  • Define and drive structured plans to address high-value problems (HVPs)
  • Specify and perform complex engineering analyses with minimal guidance
  • Proactively identify technical gaps or bottlenecks and take decisive action to resolve them, ensuring timely execution
  • Track projects and tasks rigorously, driving them to completion with a high degree of ownership and accountability
  • Design and/or modify engineering assemblies, schematics, layouts, and detailed specifications
  • Plan, coordinate, execute, and document engineering tests; develop solutions, define product specifications, and support release to production
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to understand and resolve complex RF/plasma challenges and HVPs
  • Lead system integration of RF modules and subsystems, working cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, software, process, customer support, and supply chain teams
  • Analyze complex RF/plasma behaviors using quantitative methods, analytical tools, and simulation models
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, consistently meeting aggressive targets and timelines
  • Apply best-known methods (BKM) and sound scientific principles to achieve robust, first-pass design success
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering skill development and team growth

Key Attributes

  • Strong foundational knowledge and deep understanding of RF–plasma interactions in plasma wafer processing applications
  • Subject matter expert in RF power delivery systems, including RF generators, matching networks, and RF filters
  • Expertise in high-voltage and high-power DC power supplies and RF generators for plasma generation
  • Advanced proficiency in RF matching and RF measurements, with hands-on experience using network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, RF sensors, and power meters
  • Structured, systematic problem-solving approach: able to identify, capture, characterize, and analyze complex RF/plasma issues using analytical tools and simulation methods
  • Demonstrated ability to generate innovative design concepts and rapidly implement solutions independently or within a team
  • Quick learner with a strong aptitude for adopting new technologies, developing new test methodologies, and generating intellectual property (IP)
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, including process, mechanical, electrical, software, GPS/TPS, field engineers, and external suppliers
  • Experience with plasma diagnostics and electromagnetic/plasma modeling is a plus
  • Solid understanding of RF transmission and return paths, proper RF connections, and grounding best practices
  • Experience with PVD, CVD, and Etch equipment is a plus

Qualification requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in EE or Physics with 5 - 12 years of industry experience or
  • Master’s degree with 4 - 9 years of experience or
  • PhD with 3 - 6 years or more in the semiconductor or flat-panel capital equipment industry.
