The Centre for Quantum Sensing Technology (CQST) advances the science and engineering of next‑generation quantum sensors, with core programmes in cold‑atom sensing, quantum photonics, quantum materials, and superconducting sensor technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be involved to work on the development and characterisation of solid-state quantum sensors (e.g. color centres in diamond). The successful candidate will work on sub-projects assigned by the Principal Investigator (PI) and be involved in the design and set up of laboratory instrumentations and development of experimental protocols.

The job scope includes

  • To develop experiments in consultation with PI (supported by rigorous scientific, engineering and literature backed design) and lead sub-projects assigned by the PI

  • To ensure conduct and proper documentations of experiments, project meetings, discussions with collaborators

  • To assist PI in leading, training and mentoring lab staff and students related to the project

  • To assist PI in ensuring the operational integrity of the laboratory, provide relevant trainings to staff, students and collaborators as relevant

  • To support PI in events, publications, proposals, planning, monitoring, reporting related to mission of the lab as relevant

Job Requirements: 

  • Minimally PhD in physics, engineering, materials engineering or equivalent with at least 8-years or more industry experiences in relevant roles

  • Relevant prior experience in quantum related work would be advantageous
