What The Role Entails

Tencent Finance is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Finance IT Management Department. As a Finance IT Project Manager, you will independently drive complex financial system projects from end to end. You will be responsible for planning, requirement gathering, solution design, system implementation, and project delivery across multiple finance business and technology teams. This role demands strong project management expertise, deep knowledge of finance processes and IT systems, and excellent stakeholder management skills. You will play a critical role in optimizing Tencent’s finance operations through system innovation, standardization, and compliance enablement.

Responsibilities

• Develop project plans, define objectives, set timelines and milestones, and manage resources for Finance IT System project implementations and improvements.
• Serve as a liaison between business and technical stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead end-to-end planning, requirement analysis, development, testing, deployment, and operations for financial systems projects, ensuring quality and timely project delivery.
• Provide functional domain expertise and ensure the integrity of ERP systems (Workday Finance, SAP, Oracle etc), or other Finance IT system and process functionality, including financials, procurement, and budgeting and other related finance domains.
• Collaborate with cross-functional development teams for seamless project execution.
• Translate complex business needs (e.g., accounting standards, tax regulations, compliance, risk management) into system requirements and drive technical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with international regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPPA, PDPA etc) in system design.
• Manage external vendors (development, testing, operations), ensuring technical excellence and resource optimization.

• Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related fields.
• 5+ years of project management experience in financial system implementation, with at least 3 full project cycle completed (e.g., ERP, billing platforms, payment systems).
• Strong project management skills (e.g., PMP certification preferred) and hands-on experience with project management tools.
• Proven records of managing and delivering mainstream ERP system (Workday Finance, SAP, Oracle etc) projects experiences.
• Workday Finance skills and experiences are strongly preferred
• Proficient in business-level English and Chinese Mandarin in order to work with a vast pool of internal stakeholders based out of China and various international markets.
• Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Preferably understanding of financial industry regulations, data compliance, and information security standards.
