TGI’s Product Specialist team’s mission is to

  • continually refine the commercial positioning of our product range to deliver a strong and differentiated narrative to a competitive marketplace

  • maintain and evolve our product suite to meet the changing needs of our clients and build a strong and diversified book of business

  • serve as Subject Matter Experts providing technical input for business opportunities, RFPs/DDQs, consultant engagements and client servicing support

The Senior Product Specialist is expected to serve as a product expert and product champion responsible for the promotion, defense, and competitive positioning of specific investment strategies.  In this role the person will interact with Investment Management, Distribution globally, and our other internal business partners e.g. Marketing and RFP teams to promote and secure our product line, develop content, insights and competitive positioning, be actively involved in global business development and marketing initiative as well as institutional and retail client service, and often serve as first point of contact for general questions on the investment strategies.

  • The Product Specialist serves as a specialized source of knowledge within the Business Development Group, providing proactive and reactive consultation and guidance on investment capabilities, product content, technical product specs and pricing, working collaboratively with Client Portfolio Managers on business development. 

  • The Product Specialist works with senior sales professionals to promote and competitively position these strategies through active involvement in distribution initiatives across retail and institutional channels as well as in support of existing client relationships. 

  • The Product Specialist interacts regularly with senior investment management personnel to better understand and explain the assigned investment strategies, and to provide insight and counsel to drive business decisions.  

This position will be based in Singapore and is an on-site position. This role will not be client facing.

How you will add value?
  • Lead commercial and competitive positioning through the development of defensive/offensive product positioning points and timely, relevant and engaging insights about the investment philosophy, process, and performance of specific products used in investment communications including RFPs, DDQs, pre-sale and post-sale marketing collateral.

  • Provide critical support for business development activities by owning the commercial positioning, customized content, vehicle options, and pricing for key opportunities in partnership with client portfolio managers. 

  • Support completion of RFPs providing technical product support and general support when required.

  • Effectively answer client servicing questions, articulate investment team views, and respond to performance and other investment-related inquiries on assigned investment strategies.

  • Build a close partnership with the investment team, establishing investment knowledge and credibility.

  • Perform competitor analysis and evaluation of investment landscape, encompassing product

specific peer reviews, market trends and asset flows.

  • Partner with internal product strategy teams to reposition, extend and innovate the TGI product line including product updates, product rationalization, new product implementation, client onboarding, launching new strategies, and executing product line extensions.

  • Support TGI leadership in related projects tied to broader platform or corporate initiatives and ad hoc projects.

What Will Help You Be Successful in This Role?

Experience, Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • At least 10 years in investment management/financial services with both strong client focus and technical proficiency, for example in product management / investment specialist roles.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of distribution channels, investment vehicles and pricing structures both in Asia and globally.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver in a large, complex, matrixed organization.

Technical Skills :

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills utilizing data sources for investment analysis and for performance, flows and relevant competitive information (Morningstar, eVestment).

  • Strong Powerpoint skills and some creative writing experience would be an advantage

Soft Skills:

  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively communicate with senior professionals and across a wide range of audiences and client channels.

  • Self-driven, emotionally mature, with positive attitude.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • A strong and communicative team player yet with the ability to work independently and autonomously. 

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines at the same time. Focused and results-oriented.
