We are seeking a Product Designer to shape the user experience and interface of Triple Alpha, our quantum computing IDE. You will collaborate with science, engineering and product teams to craft thoughtful, functional, and appealing designs. Your expertise in tackling complex user flows will ensure clarity, usability, and accessibility across our product.

You will also play a key role in refining processes, conducting research, and maintaining high standards for design systems, file management, and team collaboration.

Quantum computing is a rapidly growing field that is both complex and intricate. You don't need to be an expert in quantum computing, but if you're curious, eager to learn, and passionate about tackling challenging projects in an exciting, evolving field, then this role might be perfect for you.

The successful candidate will join a fast-growing team that will influence the software architecture for Horizon Quantum and will lay the foundation to support future products.

ResponsibilitiesDesign
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to inform and/or refine design decisions. That includes discussing with stakeholders to align designs with user needs, strategic goals, and industry developments
  • Define and measure design success using relevant metrics (e.g., usability scores, task completion rates, user satisfaction…) 
  • Design and deliver high-quality interfaces, from user flows and wireframes to high-fidelity designs and prototypes. Don’t be afraid to share and iterate
  • Create pragmatic, user-focused solutions that balance usability, clarity, and visual appeal while maintaining strategic alignment. Ensure a cohesive, meaningful and elegant end-to-end product experience
  • Maintain and enhance our design system to ensure scalability and consistency
  • Stay current with design trends, user behaviour, and emerging tools to drive continuous improvement
Collaboration
  • Foster safe and open communication across teams through design critique and feedback sessions
  • Help refine team processes, tools, and documentation
  • Partner with developers to establish and refine the design-to-dev workflow, emphasising continuous communication throughout projects
  • Collaborate with product to ensure strategic alignment and incorporate metrics-driven insights into the design process
  • Mentor future designers while building a collaborative design culture
Adaptability
  • Handle tasks outside product design when needed, such as video editing or other cross-functional work
  • Proactively identify design opportunities and drive product improvements
Essential Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer or in a similar role
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating not only pleasing and thoughtful designs, but also problem-solving skills with a strategic understanding
  • Experience mentoring or supporting the growth of other designers
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
  • Experience defining and tracking metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of design work and iterating based on data
  • Proficiency in Figma and Zeplin for design and handoff processes
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to thrive in a distributed team across Singapore, Dublin, and remote locations
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Curiosity about new technologies, with an appetite for challenging projects and continuous learning
  • Eagerness to learn and collaborate with a passionate, multidisciplinary team of experts
Desirable Requirements
  • Familiarity with prototyping tools (in Figma, ProtoPie or similar)
  • Basic understanding of frontend development (HTML, CSS, or similar)
  • Experience working in highly technical domains or industries (e.g., software, engineering, or even quantum computing)
  • Experience working with design systems and maintaining consistency across projects
  • Strong organisational and proactive mindset, with ability to document progress and structure files for team use
