We are looking for Reliability Engineer role in preparation for the formation of the joint venture of NXP and VIS, known as VSMC.

Job Description

This posting is for a Senior Principal Reliability Engineer in a high volume, 300mm wafer manufacturing environment.  The Senior Principal HV Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring the long-term reliability and robustness of high-voltage semiconductor devices and systems. This role involves designing and executing reliability test plans, analyzing failure mechanisms, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve product performance and quality across the lifecycle..  Candidate must also exhibit good planning, organizational, teamwork and communication skills. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute reliability qualification plans for HV semiconductor products (e.g., GaN, SiC, HV CMOS, BCD).
  • Perform hands-on reliability testing including HTOL, HTRB, TDDB, and other stress tests.
  • Analyze reliability data using statistical methods and modeling tools to predict product lifetime and failure rates.
  • Investigate failure mechanisms through electrical, physical, and chemical analysis (e.g., SEM, FIB, EMMI).
  • Collaborate with design, process, and product engineering teams to implement reliability improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as JEDEC, AEC-Q100, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Maintain and improve reliability documentation including FMEAs, control plans, and qualification reports.
  • Support customer audits and provide technical responses to reliability-related inquiries.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives..

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in semiconductor reliability engineering, with a focus on high-voltage technologies.
  • Strong understanding of HV device physics, failure mechanisms, and reliability testing methodologies.
  • Experience with reliability test equipment and data analysis tools (e.g., ReliaSoft, JMP, Python).
  • Familiarity with automotive and industrial qualification standards (e.g., AEC-Q100, ISO 26262).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong data analysis, troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully plan, execute, analyze, and deliver projects per schedule.
