About the Department
The Innovation Strategy & Planning team leads and drives the bank’s digital innovation and analytics transformation. The team ensures that innovation strategy pillars and objectives are operationalised and implemented through actionable and measurable plans and initiatives, with close collaborations across various functions within the Group.

Job Summary

The Senior Officer will support the Innovation Strategy & Planning function in strengthening UOB’s internal and external innovation outreach. The role focuses on communications, partnership engagement, training and event logistics, presentation development, and data-driven insights to elevate UOB’s positioning as a progressive and innovation-led bank.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Innovation Strategy & Planning and partners across the Innovation Group to drive adoption of innovative solutions, strengthen ecosystem partnerships, and enhance UOB’s visibility across industry platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Engagement

  • Identify, evaluate, and support the development of partnerships with corporate clients, investors, innovation labs, industry bodies, and Institutes of Higher Learning.
  • Coordinate co‑creation initiatives and partner-driven innovation programmes to pilot and scale new solutions.
  • Maintain and nurture long‑term relationships with external stakeholders to strengthen UOB’s ecosystem presence.
  • Work with internal business units (e.g., Private Banking, Corporate Banking) to align partnership activities to UOB’s innovation agenda.

2. Communications & Digital Outreach

  • Assist in crafting communication strategies and content to position UOB as a forward‑thinking, innovation-led bank.
  • Support development of thought leadership materials, digital content, and messaging for innovation showcases, speaking engagements, and industry events.
  • Prepare internal communication materials, including updates, announcements, and knowledge‑sharing content for the Innovation Group.

3. Training, Events & Workshop Logistics

  • Organize and coordinate workshops, industry events, training courses, hackathons, and innovation showcases, including end‑to‑end logistics, stakeholder management, vendor coordination, and post‑event reporting.
  • Support the Innovation Group’s relocation activities to the Punggol Digital District, including operational planning and documentation.

4. Presentation & Content Development

  • Develop high‑quality PowerPoint presentations, reports, and briefing decks for senior management.
  • Translate complex information into clear, visually compelling, audience‑ready materials.
  • Support senior leadership in preparing for external speaking engagements and innovation thought‑leadership initiatives.

5. Innovation Promotion & Analysis

  • Collaborate with Innovation Group teams to promote adoption of UOB’s digital and AI‑driven solutions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Conduct data analysis and generate insights using Qlik Sense, Power BI, or similar tools to support reporting and decision‑making.

Partnerships

  • Number, quality, and impact of partnership engagements.
  • Contribution to co‑creation pilots and innovation initiatives.

Outreach

  • Senior management participation in industry events and thought‑leadership platforms.
  • Improved client and partner perception of UOB as a progressive, innovation-oriented bank.

Team & Delivery

  • Quality of presentations, events, and communications delivered.
  • Achievement of team KPIs and effective coordination support.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in media, communications, partnerships, or innovation-related roles preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and confidently.
  • Proven ability to design polished, executive-ready PowerPoint presentations quickly and accurately.
  • Experience using data visualisation tools such as Qlik Sense or Power BI.
  • Experience supporting senior management or C-suite leaders in thought-leadership and innovation platforms is an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and fast-moving projects.
  • Team player with a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
