Surbana Jurong Group is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Manager, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and drive people strategies that support business performance and growth.


As a strategic HR partner, you will work closely with assigned business units to deliver end-to-end HR solutions across the employee lifecycle. You will provide expert guidance on workforce planning, compensation and benefits, performance management, talent development, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, and HR governance. This role requires a strong understanding of business operations within the engineering, architecture, infrastructure, built environment, or related sectors.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnering
  • Act as the primary HR interface and trusted advisor to assigned business leaders and management teams.
  • Partner with stakeholders to align people strategies with business objectives, organizational priorities, and workforce requirements.
  • Provide proactive HR counsel and recommendations on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent management.
  • Analyze workforce trends and HR metrics to identify opportunities and recommend solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Partner with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition teams to develop hiring strategies and address current and future workforce needs.
  • Support manpower planning, critical talent identification, talent mobility, and succession initiatives.
  • Ensure recruitment processes are aligned with business priorities and organizational policies.

Performance, Talent & Learning
  • Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, talent calibration, and succession discussions.
  • Partner with leaders to identify capability gaps and implement learning and development initiatives.
  • Support talent development and leadership programs to strengthen organizational capability and employee engagement.

Compensation, Benefits & Reward
  • Advise business leaders on compensation and benefits matters, including salary reviews, promotions, market benchmarking, and incentive programs.
  • Ensure compensation recommendations are aligned with internal guidelines, market competitiveness, and budget considerations.
  • Support annual compensation and reward review exercises.

Employee Relations & HR Advisory
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including performance concerns, disciplinary issues, grievances, and workplace investigations.
  • Coach managers on people management practices and employment-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR governance standards.

HR Operations & Process Excellence
  • Lead and support the execution of HR initiatives, projects, and change management programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement of HR processes, systems, and policies to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
  • Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence and Shared Services teams to ensure seamless HR service delivery.
  • Support annual budgeting and workforce planning exercises for assigned business units.

Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to facilitate effective collaboration and decision-making.
  • Champion organizational culture, employee engagement, and change initiatives.

About You
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, including significant Human Resources Business Partnering experience in a multinational corporation or large organization.
  • Prior experience supporting businesses within the engineering, architecture, infrastructure, construction, consultancy, built environment, or related industries will be highly regarded.
  • Strong knowledge across multiple HR disciplines, including business partnering, compensation and benefits, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, and workforce planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner effectively with senior business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate business needs into practical HR solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and results-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday and SAP will be an advantage.
