About the Role

We are seeking a commercially astute and versatile Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team. This role is ideal for a corporate lawyer with in-house experience, preferably within the real estate or asset management sectors. You will play a key role in providing legal advice and support for the company’s investment and enterprise activities, managing legal and regulatory risk, and executing the business’ strategy.


Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our Group Legal team, you will:

  • Provide strategic legal advice and support for complex real estate investments, joint ventures, acquisitions, divestments, and fund structures across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Partner closely with investment teams and external counsel to resolve Group-level transactional issues, ensuring alignment with ESR’s commercial objectives and legal standards.
  • Lead the negotiation and review of commercial contracts, including service agreements, vendor arrangements, NDAs, and technology-related matters.
  • Provide timely legal advice to core functions including HR, IT, Finance, Tax, and Operations teams on corporate and regulatory matters.
  • Contribute to ESR-wide initiatives by developing and interpreting enterprise and business unit-specific governance policies and procedures.
  • Anticipate and manage legal risks associated with new products, business strategies, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Act as a key legal liaison for selected markets, ensuring local compliance while maintaining consistency with Group legal standards, and provide legal support to local teams, where required.
  • Work in close partnership with ESR’s compliance and corporate governance teams to uphold the Group’s integrity and operational resilience.
  • Tackle a wide range of legal matters as they arise in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Requirements
  • Qualified lawyer with at least 6+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong corporate and transactional law background, ideally gained from a top-tier law firm and/or real estate investment or asset management company.
  • Proven ability to work independently but also collaborate with others.
  • Experience with commercial contracts, and investor documentation.
  • Familiarity with cross-border transactions and working across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and business-minded with strong attention to detail.
