Key Core responsibilities:
Solution Design & Technical Leadership
- Lead the design, enhancement, and governance of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) capabilities including instructions, workflows, WIP tracking, Non Conformance (NC)/QN management, data collection, and production routing.
- Define and architect integration patterns between MES and SAP Production planning (PP)/ Quality mgmt (QM)/EWM, including order Bill of Materials (BOM) download, routing, configuration, confirmation, and quality transactions.
- Provide architecture guidance for MES redesign, digital workflow refactoring, and Mfg Automations with IoT integrations such as torque tools, sensors, machine vision, and mobile apps.
- Drive technical evaluations and solution proposals for shop-floor digital transformation initiatives.
Operational Excellence & Incident Management
- Serve as senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex MES–SAP production issues including order sync failures, serialization mismatches, quality record alignment, and interface defects.
- Lead root-cause analysis, stability improvements, and corrective actions across functional teams.
- Partner with global operations teams to ensure high system availability, uptime, and performance.
Program & Project Contribution
- Contribute to global large strategic programs, working along with other cross functional teams.
- Define functional requirements, technical specifications, test plans, and deployment frameworks for MES and shop-floor systems.
- Mentor junior analysts and guide cross-functional teams on best practices.
Additional responsibilities
- Serve as an interface with multiple sub-groups within a business unit or functional areas for the purpose of business technology alignment, solution discovery, service management, project portfolio management, and relationship management.
- Architect and design complex business process/business application solutions to address cross functional needs, and convert design to functional and technical specifications. Oversee software application configuration, prepare and execute testing (unit, integration, performance, acceptance) and data conversions. Identifies and recommend industry BKM's for integrated solution design and standards.
- Provides and/or oversees business application functional support services to meet customer performance, availability, service level agreements and customer satisfaction targets. Oversees monitoring of specific IT systems or set of systems and tuning of such systems for availability and performance. Drives completion of root cause analysis and resolution of outages or incident trends coordinating with infrastructure and technical teams, support providers and application vendors. Drives implementation of corrective and preventative actions. Evaluates/recommends/plans life cycle for patches, point releases, and major upgrades.
- Delivers project and support services within area of responsibility within allocated budget. Develops project budgets. Develops understanding cost model and cost drivers for service(s) and recommend service area budgets and cost optimization activities. May be responsible for timely renewal of maintenance and subscription contracts.
- Ensures adherence to GIS project management, software application development, testing, service management, change management, RCA and other relevant processes, standards, governance and controls. May manage execution of sox controls and testing, and support internal and external audits.
- Plan and manage medium to large scale cross functional projects to ensure effective and efficient execution in line with guardrails of scope, timeline, budget and quality.
- Oversees/manages contingent workers performing services across multiple projects or service areas. Responsible for the selection, on boarding and off boarding of contingent workers in a timely manner. Manages contingent worker project/task assignments and ensure work product quality. Approves contingent worker time sheets/costs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 8–12+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years in Manufacturing IT.
- Hands-on expertise with at least one MES platform (Opscenter, iOMS, Critical Manufacturing, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of SAP PP, SAP QM, and SAP EWM manufacturing flows.
- Proven experience designing MES–SAP integrations (APIs, IDocs, BAPIs, middleware).
- Experience delivering complex technical solutions in high-mix/low-volume manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good Business process understanding in Manufacturing Domain
- Experience implementing MES modularization, digital instructions, or multi-site MES rollouts.
- Implementation/Knowledge of ISA‑95 models for manufacturing hierarchy.
- Familiarity with IIoT, machine vision, or automation technologies.
- Experience/knowledge of Implementing AI in Manufacturing to improve productivity or solve critical problems.
- Exposure to SAP S/4 transition impacts on manufacturing execution.
- Ability to influence across global teams and drive consensus.
Work Environment
- Based in Singapore supporting global manufacturing sites.
- Requires early-morning or late-evening collaboration with US/EU/Asia teams.
- Travel to manufacturing sites may be required (TW, US, India).
Interpersonal Skills:
- Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view.
