Brooks Automation is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team supporting our fast-paced Semiconductor Manufacturing business in Malaysia.
Reporting to the US-based Business Unit Director of Finance, this role is the on-site FP&A partner for our Malaysia manufacturing plant—acting as the eyes and ears of Global Operations FP&A. This is a highly execution-driven, plant-facing role, with hands-on ownership of monthly close, inventory and cost controls, and financial support for product transitions and ramp-ups into Malaysia.
Working closely with Cost Accounting and Operations leadership, you’ll translate day-to-day plant activity into meaningful financial insights that drive operational and business decisions.
Work Location: Onsite – Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and support monthly close activities related to Malaysia manufacturing, including inventory, cost, and variance analysis.
Serve as the primary FP&A partner to the Malaysia plant, working closely with Cost Accounting and Operations leaders.
Analyze standard cost vs. actual results, including material PPV, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption.
Support inventory management, including reconciliation, aging, E&O exposure, and working capital visibility.
Provide finance support for product transitions and production ramp-up into Malaysia, including cost readiness and post-cutover performance tracking.
Translate operational drivers (throughput, scrap, labor, yield) into financial forecasts and variance explanations.
Maintain clear, repeatable, and auditable financial analyses and templates.
Identify process improvement and automation opportunities within plant finance reporting.
Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance, or equivalent professional experience is required; an advanced degree or experience in Data Analytics is a strong plus.
At least 5 to 8 years of experience in Manufacturing Finance, Operations Finance, or Cost Accounting environments.
Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
Hands-on experience supporting month-end close in a manufacturing setting.
Ability to work closely with plant operations and influence data and insight.
Advanced Excel skills; comfort working directly with ERP data (Oracle or SAP preferred).
Ability to operate independently in a fast-changing, ramp-up environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and leaders across global locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting site start-ups, product transfers, or manufacturing ramps.
Exposure to inventory controls, E&O analysis, and working capital management.
Experience partnering with cost accounting teams at the plant level.
Familiarity with automation or analytics tools (Adaptive Planning or Power BI) is a plus.
