ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

  1. Ensure that material scheduling strategy and processes are in place and work effectively in order to ensure material supply meets production requirements. Manage inventory risk and ensure that contingency plans are in place.

  2. Seek and recommend solutions to overcome issues arising in order to meet production requirements and address operational risks.

  3. Design, develop and implement flexible solutions to aid business efficiency, drive process improvements and add value.

  4. Ensure that professional and consistent materials planning processes are applied across the business.

  5. Ensure the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM)/ Material Library and inventory accuracy at all times and manage and control inventory levels and movements.

  6. Take overall responsibility for obsolete parts process and ensure auction requirements with minimum stock levels, whilst optimizing costs.

  7. Closely work with Demand planer for effective and efficient S& OP process.

  8. Represent local team and take the leadership in global projects while closely working with global/regional stakeholders to drive global business strategies.

  9. Take ownership of material planning issues that arise, including over or under delivery and take any follow up actions especially in the event of material shortages that affect production.

  10. Business is left with minimum liability and minimal waste whilst achieving organization provision target.

  11. Ensure strategic and operational information, reports and metrics are available to share with others in the business as and when required, report on achievement of targets and identify any corrective action.

  12. Ensure strategic replenishment planning mechanism to keep the air freight cost below budget without impacting the material availability for production on time. 

  13. Share Purchase orders with suppliers and follow up until the goods are in housed.

  14. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time materials to the production line as and when required avoiding disruption to production.

  15. Take lead on internal and external relationships to ensure consistent, timely and effective communication regarding material availability.

  16. Liaise with stakeholders (regional/local) on product change requests and review and communicate the impact on material planning and schedules.

  17. Support new business initiatives and projects and contribute to review meetings/provide reports and change process.

  18. Ensure effective material planning implementation takes place relating to the changes.

  19. Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries made on time.

  20. Resolve supplier concerns of payments with members of the finance team.

  21. Close and effective coordination with Warehouse team and Quality team.

 

Qualifications

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

 

Degree in a procurement /Supply Chain management/Business Management

3-5 years’ experience relevant field and minimum 2 years’ experience in similar capacity.

Exposure to an ERP system and sound knowledge of MS office package.

Knowledge of Google sheets would be an added advantage.

Proven negotiation skills and stakeholder management.
