What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Executive, Finance, this role is responsible for managing the financial accounting of Motors Singapore Group companies, including coordinating with the shared services centre to ensure accurate records and timely financial reporting.
Accounts Receivable (AR) Management
- Oversee the sales ledger, issue customer invoices, and perform customer account reconciliations.
- Monitor AR aging reports, manage collection follow-ups, and process adjustments including credit notes and refunds.
- Work closely with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies or disputes in a timely manner.
Accounts Payable (AP) Management
- Manage end‑to‑end supplier payment processes, including electronic payments, GIRO, and cheque transactions.
- Reconcile supplier statements, resolve credit balances, and ensure timely settlement of payables.
- Prepare Banker’s Guarantees and Letters of Credit, and coordinate with suppliers to resolve outstanding items.
Intercompany Reconciliation
- Manage intercompany billings, monthly reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies across entities.
- Liaise with Group Finance and relevant entities to support accurate and timely consolidation.
Cashflow & Banking
- Handle internal and external banking-related queries, ensuring timely follow-up and issue resolution.
- Support cashflow monitoring, reporting, and management of outstanding banking matters.
Payroll Accounting
- Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries accurately.
- Support monthly commission payments in line with approved commission structures.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Identify opportunities to enhance AR, AP, and finance workflows for improved efficiency and accuracy.
- Support internal control measures and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Financial Close & Reporting
- Assist in monthly financial close activities, including preparation of month-end journals.
- Prepare and maintain monthly account reconciliations, and review balance sheet, P&L, trial balances, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and proper classification.
- Support timely financial reporting to the Finance Manager and Group Finance.
Tax & GST Support
- Assist in the preparation of GST returns, ensuring accurate classification of supplies and purchases.
- Support GST account reconciliations and ensure compliance with IRAS regulations.
- Assist with corporate tax schedules and provide necessary documentation to tax agents.
- Maintain proper audit trails and documentation for tax and GST submissions.
Other Duties
- Serve as a key point of contact for AR/AP-related queries.
- Support ad hoc finance assignments and administrative tasks as required.
Who We're Looking For
- Minimum Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with at least 6 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or fast‑paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
- Proven experience working in an IT‑enabled accounting environment, including ERP systems and digital finance tools
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
