The job:
You will play a vital role in being the bridge between the Company & different type of intermediaries/partners who promote our suite of products & services to the end customers. You are required to understand the company’s business direction and strategies, production target, agency management, company sales process (product, underwriting appetite, compliance, claims, service processes) and the external market environment (customer’s buying trends, competitor’s strength & weaknesses). You must also understand portfolio mix and evaluate the business profile of the partners and what motivates them as same as other producers under your sales management plan.
Your role is prioritized to drive & meet IDP business objectives and at the same time, help the Partners meet their personal & professional goals.
What you will do:
Business Development & Engagement
Able to guide and assist to identify potential business opportunities from agent’s network and existing portfolio
Involved in industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products for independent distribution partner channels.
Leveraging on the knowledge/insights of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
Drive & work with partners and underwriters to identify new business opportunities & procure new business.
Be with partners for joint filed work with or without the underwriters
Work with partners & underwriters to achieve targeted retention ratio Work with partners to target profitable market & secure healthy business portfolio & business mix
Sales Management
Demonstrate sound & strict sales management discipline over your portfolio through a planned & focused business review program/goal setting on segmented partners
Proficient with sales numbers through daily tracking & measuring of production trends to ensure a robust pipeline of business opportunities and sales targets are met
Responsible for achieving sales targets in both new business and Renewals
Recruitment & Activation
Leveraging on past industrial network to prospect & recruit new partners and turn this into increased business to achieve recruitment targets so to meet production expectations
Identify and activate distribution partners to increase productivity – develop new line of business producers & upgrade of agent tier
Support & execute activities to achieve recruitment target
Training & Development
Supplement core training curriculum to ensure partners under your care are competent to professionally represent our business
Develop agent’s career with us through business expansion, progression & business continuity planning
Incentive & Campaign Management
Initiate & execute sales activities to create opportunities for new business &/or renewal business through cross-sell, up sell & portfolio analysis
Conceptualize and support campaign & events through sales activities in order to achieve campaign objectives.
Pacing partners to achieve their respective agency incentives and business goals such as (higher tier status, bonus, trips..etc)
What you will need:
Minimum Diploma or Degree in any field
Minimum 1 year of related experience, preferably with knowledge as BD in insurance
Experience in business development/direct sales and knowledge in non-Life insurance would be an added knowledge
Ability to work independently in an environment of change, multiple deadlines and priorities
Expert client management skills; relationship building expertise and problem solving ability
Superior multitasking, project management, presentation skills and business acumen

Able to travel within Agency areas in responsible as needed
