Coinhako’s Trading Experience team is growing, and we’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer who’s excited to build and scale the systems behind a seamless trading journey. You’ll work closely with product, engineering, and operations to deliver smooth execution, reduce friction, and elevate the overall trading experience. What you'll be doing:
Architect and build scalable backend services. Our tech stack is Rails 7, Go, Sidekiq, REST, AWS, Docker
Ensure the quality and performance of applications to specifications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features
Optimize build and runtime performance of our services and application
Actively participate in team discussions to drive problem-solving
Participate in all phases of the development life cycle such as developing, code review, testing, and debugging
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in backend development, providing guidance and mentorship to other team members
Optimize build and runtime performance of our services and applications, demonstrating a deep understanding of system architecture
What we're looking for:
Minimum 4 years of professional work experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on designing and building scalable, distributed systems
Strong background and expertise in Ruby, demonstrating mastery of language features, performance tuning, and best practices
Proven experience in building and maintaining high-availability, low-latency systems, ideally in trading, payments, or real-time data environments
Experience designing systems with fault tolerance, graceful degradation, and disaster recovery considerations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience with REST APIs and WebSocket
Proven expertise in cloud platforms, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS), along with proficiency in Docker and Terraform for infrastructure management
Hands-on experience in building systems using both SQL and NoSQL databases, demonstrating a nuanced understanding of database design and optimization
Comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment
You’re organized, proactive and can be your own manager
Demonstrate a collaborative attitude with a bias toward action
Advanced understanding and/or experience working in a Cryptocurrency/Blockchain/Fintech/Finance Trading domain preferred
