UnspecifiedEngine Life Management Team (ELMT) Asia Pacific Team, Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE) at Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Engineer - Process Robotics and Automation role to join our team in support of Technology Development and Industrialization for the Aftermarket Operations Technology Accelerator. The ASE Technology Team works to develop and implement Technology strategies in the Aftermarket Operations Asia Pacific (AMO APAC) organization.

This is an advanced engineering and team lead role impacting the long-term growth and technology transformation of the business, efficiency of our operations, and critical business processes.
You will report directly under the Engine Life Management Team APAC (ELMT-APAC) and work functionally for the ASE Technology Team in support of the Aftermarket Operations APAC Business units. You will work closely with the respective business Technology Focal at all regional locations comprised of CAS, ESA, PWCS, TOS (Singapore), CHCEC (Christchurch), SEC (Shanghai) and TEC (Turkiye) to lead and execute Technology and Transformation initiatives. Our team members are primarily located in Singapore, but we work with the Pratt & Whitney enterprise across the world. We conduct studies, benchmark competitors, and develop and implement technologies, filling technical gaps.
What you will do
- Collaborate with the AMO business units to identify, development, and deploy process automation systems and digital solutions.
- Lead the development and testing of automation applications in the areas of repair processes and engine assembly/disassembly processes.
- Support early 'New Product Introduction' activities including Passport Gate Review for all automation solutions.
- Work collaboratively with other technology focal and process experts within Pratt and Whitney and our supply base.
- Work collaboratively with all levels of management, personnel, and customers, and have key skills in project management, general business, model/database building, and operational analytics.
- Design and build prototypes, products and systems to perform integration tests, process validation and quality control.
- Establish a comprehensive technology strategy in Robotics and Automation to support the AMO Technology deployment goals.
- Partner AMO in Execution of AMO/ASE Technology deliverables (Franchise Model concepts) and Cost Reduction initiatives meeting AMO/ASE Technology Long Range Plan targets
- Establish standard work and deliverables, including short- and long-term objectives for technology strategic focus.
- Encourage technological innovation and process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, cost reduction and operational performances.
- Use project management tools to drive growth across the ASE & AMO organization and performance against critical business KPIs.
- Support a safety-first work culture that exceeds safety performance goals and strives towards zero injuries.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable RTX and Pratt & Whitney policies and procedures including individual employee awareness of responsibility and accountability.
Qualifications you must have
- Master or Bachelor’s degree in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, System design or related discipline.
- At least 8 years of experience in manufacturing operations/engineering, systems engineering, controls engineering, and/or automation engineering.
- Proficiency in Industrial robots and programming PLC’s.
- Proficiency in C++, Python, and Matlab development in Linux environments (desired).
- Experience with Industrial vision systems.
- Familiarity with various industry communication protocols for use in devices such as sensors, actuators, motors, and controllers.
- Experience with automation sustainment and troubleshooting, including knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings and schematics.
Qualifications we prefer
- Project management experience and driving change management.
- Strong critical thinking skills, business discernment, and ability to innovate.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Technical knowledge of Pratt & Whitney’s (P&W) Engines Repair, P&W Repair Centers, and P&W Engine Services business is helpful.
- Advanced knowledge & experience in aerospace, automotive, or industrial business. Aviation and Aftermarket experience would be a big plus.
