Get to know the team
The Platform team at Grab leads the horizontal platform capabilities for all of our verticals, such as the Identity, Trust, Safety, Support Experience, Comms and Marketing Platform. We work holistically to build a scalable platform with delightful experience for all of our users, from drivers, merchants and consumers to make Grab as the platform of choice.
Get to know the role
As a Senior Design Manager on the Platform team, you will manage designers and UX writers working in a highly collaborative fashion across several problem spaces as they explore the needs of our users and the business to create impactful solutions that drive our mission forward.

We’re looking for great design managers, who can coach and mentor a growing team, who can think strategically and act decisively, and who can help the team positively impact how millions of people across Southeast Asia interact with Grab.
The day-to-day activities
- Drive design outcomes, contribute to product strategy & elevate quality across teams.
- Manage Product Designers, UX Writers and UX Researchers working across several problem spaces.
- Coach and mentor designers in solving complex and novel problems in simple and impactful ways.
- Ensure design quality and superior user experience.
- Drive and improve cross-functional collaboration at all levels.
- Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Analytics, Research, Marketing, and senior leadership to deliver impact.
- Articulate complex thinking in a clear, convincing and concise manner.
- Develop and implement effective design processes.
Qualifications
The must-haves
- 7+ years Product Design experience.
- 4+ years experience managing high performing design teams.
- An online portfolio or case studies demonstrating user-centred design and leadership.
- Great core product design skills: visual design, prototyping and interaction design.
- Excellent understanding of user experience design for the web and mobile.
- Experience working on cross-functional product teams.
- Experience with Figma, Sketch, Protopie and other design tooling.
- Strong knowledge of mobile and front-end web standards and development.
The nice-to-haves
- Experience in User Research, Service Design, UX Writing or Design Operations are all a plus.
Portfolio Requirements
Please provide a portfolio of your recent design work in English, showcasing your contribution and the impact of your projects. We recommend you provide clear context, outline your end-to-end workflow and demonstrate how you go from problem discovery to launch.
