Lead and supervise crewing team; source, interview and redeploy seafarers; verify certificates and medicals; manage crew rotations, documentation and MPA Portal entries; coordinate crew changes, visas, flights and immigration clearances; maintain crew records and appraisals; perform ship visits and other duties as assigned.
Job Description
- Lead, supervise and evaluate team members including allocation of work, monitoring of workloads and quality of work.
- Source for new seafarers and arrange for interview of senior officers with the respective department heads.
- Contact ex-seafarer for redeployment.
- Check seafarer's certificates, including arrangement for medical check-up as per Charterer's requirement.
- Check seafarer's certificate authenticity with the relevant authority and application for Flag State license.
- Maintain up-to-date seafarer's personnel file and monitor seafarer's certificates and documents expiry.
- Update crew planning/rotation list and crew list.
- Ensure that the crew change is carried out promptly and in an effective and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure that crew appraisal assessment is being conducted, signed and filed.
- Liaise with crew agents and port agents for crew joining/repatriation, including booking of flight and visa application.
- Extend crew's entry pass and ship's landing pass with Singapore Immigration authority.
- Declare immigration clearances and outward port clearance.
- Update crew article, including sign on/off via MPA Portal.
- Apply visa, where required.
- Update crew's personal records and certification in the crew management system.
- Other duties as assigned by Head of Crewing/Agency.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Maritime related qualifications or equivalent with at least 5-year of Crew Management experience, preferably in offshore industry.
- Possess the ability to lead a team and has outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work autonomously.
- Possess good organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
- Candidates with relevant offshore or marine related industry will be an added advantage.
- Primarily office-based, with occasional travel and ship visits.
- Able to work overtime when required.
